Nice to see you again! Ive also been quite busy with school work so I haven’t posted much either but school just ended so I guess I have more time now (?).
To answer your questions,
1. Favorite thing you have written?
I co-authored a research paper on the Industrial Revolution I think is pretty great.
2. Stranded on an island. If you like music, what are five songs or five albums that you would want to have if you were stranded on an island? Basically top five, whether through quality or sentiment.
Hades Town Cast album
Sweeney Todd 2023 cast album
Hunchback of Notre Dame album
Persona 5 Soundtrack
Persona 3 Reload Soundtrack
3. Stranded on an island but five books.
Bible
Great Gatsby
East Asian studies textbook (to get some learning in)
The First Law Series (3 books, epic fantasy is great)
4. Favorite movies or tv shows?
Arcane
5. If you could make any activity an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance of winning a medal for?
None, I could do pretty well at robotics but that’s not in the olympics
Hey, Life has finally started winding down for me. AP tests are in a few weeks and my robotics team just finished up competing in FRC worlds last week. I’m helping out with a one act that my brother otherworldlyhistorian wrote and trying to get sleep.
He could have kept them because they are his biological kids and he couldn’t bear to give them up. 🤷♂️
By orthodox Jewish standards though they are like fully Jews because Orthodox Judaism is matrilineal.
I will now crawl out from under the large pile of coursework to inform you guys that according to interviews with multiple sources JK Rowling (the Harry Potter author) is a Christian. You can find a couple of Christianity parallels throughout the books the most obvious being in the end of Deathly Hallows.
I’m a bit busy to do a book club at the moment but if you need suggestions I can help, I’ve been reading a lot of classic lit this year for AP Lang.

cool, we play a lot of board games as well. I just got a new one called Arkham Horror that I think I will review next!
Thanks for checking it out I just put it up yesterday so it might still have some issues.
I just opened up a blog for my board game reviews. you guys can view it here. https://necrogameicon.wixsite.com/my-site
So Hello 👋
I just wanted to give my two cents on the whole Narnia thing (which people seem to be really up in arms about)
I was reading some news things and saw that Greta Gerwig (of Barbie move and Little Women fame) was going to be directing some Narnia material (can’t remember if it was movies or tv shows) based off of the first 2 books in the Narnia series for Netflix. As someone who liked the Gerwig movies I have seen (little women and Barbie) and appreciates her filming styles I was very exited.
I found this to be a very different reaction to this news than highscribeofaetherium
In my best knowledge I wouldn’t describe Gerwig as anti-christian. Although she is not Christian she did go to Catholic school so I feel like she has probably read the Narnia books. Additionally in the few interviews I have found of her talking about her upcoming Narnia adaptations she did not say anything about significantly changing the books from their source material. Here’s a quote form one of those interviews:
“I haven’t even really started wrapping my arms around it, but I’m properly scared of it, which feels like a good place to start,”
Hybridlore’s quote
Netflix’s reboot of The Chronicles of Narnia should not stick to the original ending as it may alienate viewers due to its heavy religious undertones.
The current fantasy landscape calls for refreshing twists and turns, so Netflix must carefully decide which parts of the source material to keep and which to get rid of.
Does not come from Gerwig. Instead it comes from Screen Rant (correct me if I’m wrong but I found those exact words in a screen rant article) which is an entertainment website that offers news in the fields of television, films, video games, and film theories. This would be the view of one writer and their opinions of what should be done to the Narnia stories.
I feel like this is in a way a good way to showcase the way that we can easily be swung to an extreme or manipulated by incomplete or partially correct information. If earlier I had of seen the initially post on here about Narnia then I feel I would have been upset to however since I knew it would be directed by Gerwig I was like that wait Greta Gerwig’s anti-Christian something that didn’t seem super write to me so I decided to look more into the whole thing.
Also on a second hand side of things I feel like in the last couple of posts there has been a lot of hate aimed at Netflix, media companies, and unknowingly Gerwig, I don’t really think that is right or showing the love of God. Jesus said to love our enemies and I get it if what you see someone is doing as being bad or threatening to your childhood but that doesn’t excuse you to be mean to them. Also on a side note please don’t pirate material. Pirating is basically stealing as you are taking something and viewing it without paying money to those who created it. If you want to try to rationalize it as it okay to pirate this because Netflix is bad and unchristian your logic is flawed because even though Netflix won’t get any money the people that made the movie (writers, directors, producers, actors) won’t get any money and as these projects are usually quite big probably at least one person on that team was a Christian.
So if I remember correctly from what are music director said then the Latin is sung differently because the Latin that you learn and speak in Latin classes is Classical Latin (what the Roman’s spoke in) whereas the type of Latin that you generally sing is Church Latin (what the Catholic Church uses)
I did listen to some of the other ones I think Nelson’s one about needing to be respectful to others made a lot of sense and I could totally agree with it.
The musical is not sung in French although it does include a lot of singing in Latin to evoke that Cathedral feel. I recently learned that apparently the Latin pronunciation used for singing is different from the type that you generally learn in Latin class (I have taken 3 years of Latin going on 4). So it has been fun learning about singing that. I will say if you understand the Latin being sang it makes the songs way deeper.
I currently use a windows 10 computer from like 2017 so I don’t think it will crash your computer. Although I’m planning on upgrading to a 2020 MacBook soon for better performance. Blender is a free software that’s open source and is for 3D modeling and fusion 360 is for CAD and CAM. If you are still in school (College or High-school) you can get a free educational licensee for fusion which allows you to use it for free (otherwise it’s like $300 a year).
Also if you want to get into 3D printing I would recommend getting a Ender 3 V2 filament printer they are pretty self explanatory and good priced for a printer (although still about $200 on Amazon).
Here’s the soundtrack on YouTube if you want it (this is from the of broadway show a while back) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vT36E1rGgg0
🤦♂️
I just realize that KP are my post. (Note I made this post a couple of month ago)
It’s funny I was just thinking about you the other day. As for life most of my recent weeks have been absorbed by the production of Hunchback of Notre Dame musical I am a part of. (On a side note the hunchback cast album is amazing and I highly recommend it if you need something to listen to)
I am also busy preparing for GSMUN (the model UN conference my school puts on) and learning CAD and 3D modeling (Fusion 360 and Blender respectively)
How has life been on your side of the screen?
Since I watched 4+ hours of David Alexander videos and wrote up a large response (which was apparently eaten by kp a couple months ago) I will have to try make a new response I think. (I have a couple of questions and remarks but the videos were helpful in answering a lot of them)
Most of my remaining questions range from some interesting points to some big-ish things so how much debate ish stuff are you looking for?
(I also probably won’t be able to respond until sometime in august though because my production is entering tech week next week and I have a big paper due for gsmun soon)

so 👋,
I’m Folith-Feolin, I am a game-playtester, thespian, robotics person, game developer, and avid reader.
So some helpful tips, your book sounds like something that would do well in the modern publishing market based off of some of what has done really well in the last couple of years. So about your copyright question anything older than about 1920 is public domain meaning that it does not have a copywrite on it. (You can use it for whatever you want without needing any permissions)
so some questions
What’s your favorite musical?
Do you prefer clear cut heros or morally ambiguous heros?
what is your favorite book?

So if you want some reading to help you out thr rite and slaughterhouse 5 have been noted for having very good depictions of main characters with ptsd.@freedomwriter76 @euodia-vision @esther-c
I enjoyed the boy in the striped pajama’s as well.
If you guys would like another book to read set in the same time period of the boy in the striped pajamas, (ie about Nazi Germany) I highly recommend In the Garden of the Beasts by Eric Larson. It is a very interesting read and is extremely well researched. It follows the American ambassador to Germany during the rise of Hitler.
If we are just talking about really sad things besides books then since esther-c already has movies covered I will have to throw out the musical Parade which is one of the most Sad musicals I have ever seen on stage (I didn’t even cry during Les Mis). It’s currently on broadway until aug 6 and won the tony award for best musical this year. It is actually quite similar to being some sort of weird cross between the boy in the striped pajamas and to kill a mocking bird (both good books).
