A Dog in the Kingdom of Pen
Part 3: To Eskrey
Wind whistled in Warren’s ears as he bounded through Keeper Forest. He glanced to his right and saw Riddlewit gliding alongside him, occasionally pausing to check on the Griffin that was strapped to Warren’s back: Ezekiel, a KaPeeFer named FileWriter’s pet.
Soon, the border of the forest came into…[Read more]

@filewriterbase13x I haven’t welcomed you yet so, WELCOME! *throws feathers* *throws chocolates*
I am Catwing! *purs* Glad to meet you.
Nice assistant. (Though for your signature you say, ‘Personal AI Assistant’ Shouldn’t you say ‘Personal Artificial Intelligent Assistant’ ??? 🙂 It doesn’t matter really, it doesn’t.)
Welcome to the Kingdom of Pen1 -

@filewriterbase13x @rochellaine I’ll try to be concise… 😉
Pure sci-fi relies on realistic science, and while the inventions or technologies in the story may not be real, they could probably be invented using the substances and scientific laws known on earth. Also, pure sci-fi does not feature supernatural elements.
Fantasy oftentimes takes p…[Read more]

@ariel-ashira There are thirteen of us so far… 🙂
@filewriterbase13x That’s a good explanation of sci-fi, but I’d like to clarify that good sci-fi in the original form dealt mostly with assumed scientific facts, rather than purely fictional facts. If the “facts” are purely fictional with no basis in science as we know it, the work can be…[Read more]

Okay, so several people have asked about my personality type. So I took the test. Or whatever you call it. 🙂
*drumroll* tada! I am a ENFJ-A.
“With vision and determination, nothing is impossible”. I like that.
Although I think on other parts they make me sound a little to overbearing and judgmental. I like following, not leading, but only…[Read more]

A Dog in the Kingdom of Pen
Part 2: The Talking Squirrel
Warren Luther stared at the spot where Catwing had been hovering. A Cheshire Catwing…he hadn’t even heard of catwings before today and now there were Cheshire Catwings??? And a Sheriff named Rochellaine who doesn’t believe in Catwings or talking squirrels?
“Kingdom Pen is aweso…[Read more]

@filewriterbase13x what kind of soldier is Jared? Is this a historical book? Is it futuristic? What is the “aesthetic” of the book? (Steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy, medieval, etc)

@filewriterbase13x Thanks! I thought that is what it meant, but wasn’t sure.

@filewriterbase13x Your WIP sounds cool. Do you write poems?
@rochellaine You have eight adopted siblings?!! Wow. That is so awesome! How many siblings do you have in all? I have an older sister, and two younger sisters, and none of us were adopted. I wish I had more siblings!
And can I ask a super dumb question? What is sci-fi?

Also @filewriterbase13x I’d be happy to draw some of your guys! Brant (see above) is not a good example of my male drawing skills, since I did him pretty quickly (about 15 minutes) as I didn’t have much time.
But if you want help drawing men, here’s one tip I’ve learned that I’m trying to implement: girls are built of circles and curves, a…[Read more]

@filewriterbase13x Cool! 🙂 I think @catwing has similar beliefs to you: that all magic is bad, but not necessarily magical creatures or fictional references to magic.

@filewriterbase13x No problem! I had a weird writing question one time too…. *remembers the Acoustic Kitty story* Oh yeah, I should probably start that fairly soon…. 😀
Okay, that sounds like a good plan. Nine or ten chapters isn’t too often, but not too sporadic. 🙂 I mean, if you ask me I will attempt to answer your questions. But I’m not…[Read more]

@kaya-young Thanks so much! 😀 😀 I’m glad you liked it. *barks happily*
@filewriterbase13x Thanks! *chuckles* That should be happening sometime soon…. *disappears mysteriously into the shadows* 🙂

@filewriterbase13x I pretty much agree with the rest of them. 😉 Yeah, I definitely think that would be pretty cool if you wove in some of his POV. It would let us know that he’s not just sitting around doing nothing the whole time, ya know?
Oh, and also, this is kinda of random, but think about why he is evil. Yes, people are inherently evil,…[Read more]

@filewriterbase13x I don’t really have a major work in progress at the moment, I’m currently trying to find some sort of idea, any sort of idea. I’m working on a short story as a gift for my dad. To fill time in between “brilliant” (hahaha) novel ideas, I sometimes dabble in fan-fiction and short stories, which I have found to be excellent ways…[Read more]

@filewriterbase13x I’m randomly popping in, but I think it should be fine. If you’ve read Christopher Paolini’s Inheritance Cycle series, there are chunks of chapters written from the MC’s POV, but then there are other chapters written from other character’s POVs. But don’t do it every other chapter or something like that; it would probably get…[Read more]

@rochellaine Whoops…you have a cat. Not a dog. 😅😀
@filewriterbase13x No problem. After all, it is technically you! 🙂 Thanks! Oh, and would you prefer a name other than FileWriter or do you just want to go by that?
