This. Is. Hilarious. I honestly can’t think of much I would change— the dry, matter-of-fact, world-wise and patiently weary voice of the narrator is perfect for showcasing what kind of world they live in, the wry humor is fantastic, and as an avid student of English history I can totally appreciate everything you said about royalty! 😀

Aaaaaand I’m going to be gone again, this time for approximately a week. So if you tag me and I don’t answer, don’t worry. I haven’t been swallowed up by an earthquake or anything. 😉 Bye!

@bluejay, @hannah-c, @kate-flournoy Sorry I missed it tonight. I’m going to be busy for the next two days, but should be back on Monday.

@reaganramm Ooo, that’s so hard! I would probably choose a course on characterization, plotting, world-building, or showing vs. telling.

@the-happy-bookaholic Yes, we have many political parties and you can vote for any of them. It’s just that only the democrats or republicans ever win (except maybe in a few very small government positions). You can also vote for whoever you want. Santa Clause gets a couple votes every year. It would be a huge constitutional crisis if he ever won. 😉

Urgh… yikes, that’s a difficult question. Probably characterization— I don’t struggle with that, but it’s one of those things I feel like I can never study enough of or understand as fully as I should. There’s just so much to learn!
Um… other than that… let’s see… novel structure? Character arcs? (Or would that be in with…[Read more] -

Oh boy, I struggle with a lot of little things. Like, writing fluid prose, mastering emotion, getting the sense of timing just right, not being too choppy, picking the right tense, etc.

@bluejay My dad had to talk to me for about fifteen minutes, but I managed to get 433 words edited – finishing the edits for the chapter I started yesterday.

@kate-flournoy @hannah-c @bluejay I’m going to be editing tonight. I might have to stop half way through, but most likely I’ll be able to go till nine.

@Christi-Eaton That sounds like a neat experience! Whose campaigns have you helped with? Just curious, have you ever heard of TeenPact? Generation Joshua sounds a lot like TeenPact.

Hahaha @spradlin I totally didn’t mind. 😀
There’s not much to build on this, actually— it’s a fact, not a technique, so it can’t really be discussed. 😛And what exactly does your ‘weak’ analogy mean? I’m not quite sure I get it…

@Christi-Eaton No, I’ve never heard of it. What’s Generation Joshua?

@the-happy-bookaholic I’m kind of glad that I can’t vote for anyone, since I’m not old enough yet. Right now, I honestly don’t know who I’d vote for: Hillary, who’s clearly been caught in lies before, or Trump, who, if we’re all honest, doesn’t have a clue what being a president entails and would be horrible at foreign relations and could…[Read more]

@the-happy-bookaholic I’d rather have Hillary than Trump, not because she’s better but because she’s a democrat and at least wouldn’t be a blight to the republican party. I’ll either write Cruz in or vote Constitutional or Libertarian, none of which will get elected, but it will at least be a statement and might help a good third party get some…[Read more]

GET ME THAT BOOK
*cringe* Make sure you have a good stock of cookies on hand, @Daeus, cuz I have a feeling it’s not going to be ready for at least a few months yet.
Another thing about ends, guys, is that the best stories never truly end. There may come a point where you cease to be a part of their story, but their stories never actually stop.…[Read more]

@the-happy-bookaholic good question Sarah. I’m not old enough to vote, but if I were, I wouldn’t vote at all. I don’t really buy the argument that no vote is a vote for someone else, and the lesser of two evils is still evil.
Ultimately, I’m judged by God, not the Republican party (or what’s left of it) and I’d rather take human pressure now than…[Read more] - Load More
