@Ethryndal I don’t generally do that, but sometimes I’ll take what is happening and use it to make a scene more realistic. Like once I was in charge of the house while Mom and Dad were gone overnight, and all the creaking through the night freaked me out, then I used the emotions from that ‘scene’ in a similar scene in a book where a princess is…[Read more]

I am an infp and I do that all the time. I went through this sort of situation, and my writing was used a lot to help me calm down and get rid of some of the pressure building up inside me.

@Ethryndal I like to do that sometimes (though usually on purpose). If I’ve had a rough day, I’m going to write a tenser part in my story because I’m actually feeling something very close to what my character is feeling in the scene. (Does that make sense?) Or I’ll make my sarcastic character say the things I can’t get away with ;)…[Read more]

@Ethryndal first of all just let me say this is really weird, because INTJ females are supposed to be as rare as unicorns, but we have at least three on this site— you, @Hope, and @Jess. KP must be a magnet for all things rare and fascinating. 😛
And second of all, I honestly don’t know. If I’m going through an intense emotional phase (of any…[Read more]

Okay so I’m very late. Very, VERY late.
But, all the same, I wanted to say WELCOME @ethryndal to the bestistest place on the internet (I have no doubt that you’ve heard that phrase before)! 😉
There will be no judging of insanity here, as we’re all insane, too. 😛 You’re bound to fit in quite well here.
Also, TOLKIEN! YES! TOLKIEN IS…Well,…[Read more] -

@anne-of-lothlorien I’ll check out Beyond the Mask for sure. And I think Ever After would be cool too. Romance movies are totally my guilty pleasure (if you know what I mean).
@emma-flournoy Yeah. It’s harder to read books here. No libraries. I know you’ve mentioned the Mr. Smith Goes to Washington before so I’ll be sure to watch it. And I love A…[Read more]

@Ethryndal, as always I’m far too late, but Welcome to the bestistest place on the internet anyway. Yes, @bluejay, I know you already said it, but I just couldn’t help myself. Hope you enjoy your time here. 🙂

@anne-of-lothlorien @writefury @sleepwalkingMK @his-instrument @ethryndal Oh, first person. For some reason, my writing really only seems successful when I write in that person. Third person is another thing altogether. I find it insanely difficult. I can’t believe I’m asking this but, any tips???

@Dragon-Snapper Oh, okay. Is there a key of some sort in the back of your copy, or are you learning it from the map?
@Ethryndal Yep, the books are better for the most part. I think there was a little less bad language in the movie though, for which I was happy. 😛

@ethryndal *gasps* I’m known as ‘that’ person now? But I…well, I guess, that is somewhat true. A sword, a bow, several daggers… What is it with my obsession with weapons and cloaks?
NaNo is hard, but not that hard. It’s more just keeping going for a whole month. 😉

@emma-flournoy Actually, I used the Hobbit. The Return of the King version is a more modern version of dwarvish. The Hobbit is the older tongue.
@ethryndal Only the runes. I don’t know how to pronounce anything… but maybe I should learn. -

Oh, no! @Hope used the only excuse I could think of. *racks brain for any more ideas* *isn’t able to think of one* *stares at floor with hands clasped* Ummm…hi.
I’m late.
Welcome, @ethryndal. When I grow up, I’m gonna be an elf…just like you! Seriously though, you sound like a pretty awesome person. Can’t wait to get to know you better.…[Read more]

Welcome, @ethryndal! And no, I’m not late. I arrive precisely when I mean to…or whenever I get on her and realize I’ve not been answering or greeting people like I ought to be. 😉 I love Tolkien too.
I’m doing NaNo this year for the first time. And as for other things I like…dress up. Reading. Music videos…

@Ethryndal Oh, which movie? The Anthony Andrews one? That’s the only one I’ve seen, and I love it, though it’s not really accurate. 😛 Keep reading the books.

@Anne-of-Lothlorien @Ethryndal The Scarlet Pimpernel!! You both officially have incredible taste for that. How many of the books have you read? I haven’t read all of them, but I seriously want to and I loved most of those I have read. Have you at least read the original Scarlet Pimpernel, The Elusive Pimpernel, and Eldorado? Which is your favorite?

@ethryndal Yah, Legolas found me in wandering in the woods after I discovered the way to reach Middle Earth. I was babbling about how awesome he is, and how awesome Elves were, and how awesome Lothlorien is, and stuff like that so he offered to take me in and teach me how to live like an elf. He’s even going to show me how to defy gravity by…[Read more]

So,this is for songs that you’ve written, and when you want to put the words.
Here’s some lyrics to a song I just wrote. Unfortunately, you can’t hear me sing it, which is too bad, because I flatter myself I do it well, but here’s the words. This is the first one I’ve done, so it might sound weird to you. And don’t read it like a poem, cause then…[Read more] -

No, I’m not talking to you. I’m talking about little children. I have a lot of trouble writing little kids. The youngest I’ve ever written extensively about is an 11 year old. That may seem weird cause I have four younger siblings age 11 to 2, but it’s hard!
So, if you guys have any advice, information, how you write little people, their thought…[Read more] -

You know you’re a writer when you’re so distracted planning a plot twist that you unwrap a Starburst, put the candy in the trash and the wrapper in your mouth. Then you spit it out and make a disgusted face, then morph into making faces that your MC could make when he’s poisoned.
You know you’re a easily distracted writer when you start out…[Read more]

@Daeus Now you have to write the rest of that story. Interesting. I’ve never written second person, but maybe I’ll try sometime. AFter NANOWRIMO.
