AHH! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!
17 was a fun birthday because that was when we could officially drink coffee. XD Hope you have a blast!
You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan
Yay! XD
How about this? I feel like this photo template could go for so many expectations vs reality memes.

GOOOOOOD MORNING KEEPERS!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, awesome! (Piano players unite! XD I think I remember that you played piano now.) Do you like it?
I grew up listening to that one under the English name (Turkish March) and got very excited when I looked it up, lol. I haven’t tried learning it, though. I’ve only actually learned/played a few of his small pieces. What is it like to play?

On the bright side, I’m making latkes!

PLAYLIST. YESSSS.
Ahhh! Thank you, your lofty lowness, for the bonkers songs! I tried to think of something goofy to add to my list, but “Eating Bugs” was all I could think of. XD “Rock Monster” is perfect.
Your more “serious” songs are great too, of course. 😉
I am not kissing your feet, though.

Ooh, you’re learning a Mozart piece? On what instrument?

Ten is a good number. XD

Hehe. Splendid!
Chocolate is a very personal thing. XD Personally, I like most chocolate, but only love some. Snickers are salty crunchy caramel goodness. 3 Musketeers are just nasty fluff. Belgian chocolate is lovely. Dark chocolate with orange or currant in it is a delicacy all its own. Reese’s peanut butter cups, particularly the mini ones, are pure, happy nostalgia. But Reese’s pieces are like that snack you lost in your backpack two months ago but is somehow there waiting when you’re stuck between flights in need of a munch: stale and only nice at weird times.
I could easily also share Travenor’s Spanish truffle addiction if they were easier to get.

I just went back and saw your meme on weird songs. Seriously, that’s so real though. XD
I also saw I can share limitless instrumentals!! Bwahaha… You don’t have to add all these, but hey, funsies..XD
Return and Crows by Gray Havens
Walk of Shame, It’s Snowing and Heavily, and Only People We Like from Samuel Sims’ Emma (2009). Honestly, the soundtracks from most Jane Austen adaptions are lovely and surprisingly versatile for many aesthetics. The Emma (2009) is one of my favorites, though. So much fun music.
Troubador by George Winston
Symphony No. 17 in G-sharp minor, Op. 41:I. Lento-Allegro molto agitato by Ural Youth Symphony Orchestra
All the instrumentals from Wingfeather Saga season 1, but at least Stabbish Elbows.
And Scotch and Chocolate by Nickel Creek that you suggested to me a while back, if you haven’t added that one yet.

Yes, both. Either will work!

Splendid idea but also difficult because favorites kinda depends on my mood. XD This should be a decent sampler.
Heaven (feat Draylin Young and Libby Donaldson) by UPCI music
Far Kingdom or Take This Slowly by Gray Havens (cheating by offering options, lol.)
Psalm 23 or Slava Lui by Alin Și Emima Timofte
Lucy’s Tale by Sarah Sparks
Hu Yavo by Joshua Aaron (I love the mix of Old Testament prophecy and the book of Revelation, plus the music makes me want to dance, soooo… XD)
Ooh, instrumentals. Funsies.
The World Has Left Us Behind by Samuel Sims from Emma (2009)
Watch Your Brother and Sister from the Wingfeather Saga season 1
New World by Stephen Sharp Nelson. Basically a simplification of Dvorak’s New World Symphony focusing on the lovely middle section, Largo. Ever since learning it in a Piano class, Largo has become what I find myself humming when I’m happily employed in little handiwork etc. I love it.
Edge of Winter by Taryn Harbridge
Calata by Christopher Wilson

I have typed my list twice, only for the screen to reload and destroy it. 🙁

Yeah, i do think it’s funny that microns have the color scheme/look of the really old tan brick computers, my parents used to have one so that shade of tan makes me nostalgic.
Oh, they do look like they belong with those old computers! XD That’s funny. I’ve thought of them as nerdy coffee-colored pens.
I’ve yet to try it but I just feel nervous using ink over there too, even though there are ink well holes in the desk it feels dangerous haha.
You know what? Writing desks often had slanted surfaces. I suppose it would depend on how slanted your desk is, but I’d say try it. And if you do, tell me how it goes. XD I need to look into something like that for my drawing, and I’m curious to see if it works out.
My holder grippy is blue too! 😀
Since Nikko G’s don’t flex like most calligraphy nibs, they’re easier to get the feel of, so they’re often recommend for beginners. The Zebras are very simiy, but I think they’re a little finer? I don’t remember. XD
Technically, any fancy writing could be calligraphy since it’s just making words prettily. XD I do more than cursive, though. It’s definitely easier to do with the dip pen than the microns. I’ve tried several styles, but my favorites so far have been Copperplate(even though it’s a pain), miniscule bookhand, and a pretty, modern style that I don’t remember the name of. XD Also imitating Tolkien’s handwriting and C. S. Lewis’ for a set of book themed cards. Copying handwriting is fun because it’s usually a simpler style, and you learn a lot about the person in the process. Tolkien’s handwriting has a lot of medieval inspired quirks in the way he shapes his letters. (Everything is structured in round movements, and he seems to have preferred a chisel shaped nib) However, not only is C. S. Lewis’ based more on a typical cursive, but he developed reumatism in his wrist which made his handwriting run-together. Very fun to try to read, lol.
And wow. That was a lot. I’ve gotten a out of doing it, but now I want to start again… Anyway, because the control issues I’ve had were worse when drawing, I had just shifted away from using the dip pens for illustrations.
Have you done calligraphy?
yeah using looser ink made such a difference for me! I’ve tried dipping into water first before using thick ink too and that seems to smooth it out a bit.
I will definitely try that too. *taps nose*
I haven’t! Oh goodness I can’t handle smells lol. That sounds really cool! I’m assuming it was popular at some time long ago lol?
Hehe. It smells like rusty vinegar. So not horrible if you can get used to it, but you definitely want good air circulation. And yes, it’s a bit of a historical thing, used since ancient times right up until, well now, I guess. There’s a site that does a lot of reproduction scribal equipment, and they sell a version based off of George Washington’s favorite ink. (Scribal Work Shop)
I have not tried walnut ink! It sounds lovely. I love the nature-based inks, or at least the idea of them. XD That’s sad that it doesn’t like your nibs. What kind of thickness/texture is it?

I am immensely satisfied to watch you carry away the tea secrets in thy handy knapsack. Also happy to see that Chicken Soup is now officially Medieval Medicine. And will now invest in shelf-buidling. *Bows*
