Oh, funsies!
This is a great idea! XD Unfortunately, your characters are actually pretty unique, so finding a match here will take a bit.
Faramir and Beregond! My sister and I have been re-read/listening to the trilogy again and I had forgotten how much I liked Beregond. Ever noticed the illustration of…[Read more]

IT’S WILL.
And Shadow! And the infamous mandola!
He actually looks a lot like I imagine him. Wow. That’s very good.
Yeah, I haven’t finished the series either. Mostly because he killed my favorite character in the end and it didn’t even make sense. He should have just let her be and maybe taken the chance to write a healthy…[Read more]

Glad you like it! We shall try to post the next bit next week. 🙂
If anyone has any ideas, they can post them in this thread too. I think it’s unofficially dedicated to Kingdom Pen.

I understand that. My sister and I found a folder full of old short stories from several years ago. My writing has come a long, long way, but at the same time I still have similar tendencies and character ideas.
I even illustrated the little things. XD I don’t do that now, but I intend to.

Prologue
The evening light was fading in my ‘office’. I pushed my makeshift desk (the coffee table)aside to click on a stand lamp. Its buttery yellow light softened the harsh blue of my computer. I ran my fingers over the keys again.
Where was Travenor? Ah yes. My dauntless hero had just stopped by the Emin Muil.
A slight stab of guilt dug int…[Read more]

Anyone wonder what would really happen if your characters were real and you met? Or what if tables turned and you were a character instead of the author?
Then this serial story might just be the sparkle of insanity you have been hoping for! (or if not, and if that’s the case, go invest in Narnian ice cream or something.)
Anyway, here’s the…[Read more]

There is good and bad to be said about the books. There are some stupendous characters, including a young Sherlock and his intrepid little sister. Often the plots are unique and full of twists, and the stories include tidbits of fascinating history like the Victorian Fan language knife fighting techniques.
Unfortunately, many of…[Read more]

Ironically, most books that impact me now, are those that impacted me then. We read and enjoyed many books that I no longer remember because they went back to the library and apparently their impact ended there.

Hey @esther-c !
Children’s literature is a precious genre!
Let’s see if I can figure out some answers from my own experience as a very young bookworm and aspiring writer of a children’s novel.

Loads of fun! There are so many possibilities! XD
My parents were a little concerned though.
Well, my art style for this story is fairly simple. I’m hoping to mix in some ink work, but so far it’s just line drawing with simple shading. The one picture I tried with his burns, I ended up mostly hiding it.
I’ll be somewhere in the…[Read more]

So I’ve been thinking…
Do y’all have any tips for drawing scars/disfigurements? 😁
I really love the fact that Viktor has serious burn scarring on his hands and back, but it’s been difficult to draw. Part of my problem is that I’m not sure that my drawings look like burn scars at all. The other part is trying to find the balance between…[Read more]

It’s Faramir!!!!!!!!!
That’s so good! Did you use alcohol markers for the color? The coloring and detail is beautiful. And his outfit is definitely Ranger-ish. It’s perfect for him. Especially the bow. (I actually do have a cloak like that…)
He’s one of my absolute favorites from LotR. A battle hardened soldier with a g…[Read more]

You felt like Calvin? I didn’t know my pouncing abilities were so good. I feel profoundly complemented. XD
Aw, thank you! I’m so glad you like my drawings, and that you don’t think the dress and skirt thing is stupid. Sometimes it gets a little lonely.
SKIRTS ARE THE BEST. XD I don’t know your personal reasons behind them, but…[Read more]

Welcome to the Kingdom of Pen!
I know this is an exceptionally late ambush, but when you asked what we did on here other than ambush newbies, I realized this is one thing I haven’t done in a while. And as you love Peter Pevensie (from the BOOKS), and Smalden, draw beautifully, and like skirts, I feel an unavoidable obligation to…[Read more]

Concerned is an understatement.
I enjoyed this scene so much! I love that Riker helps him, if course, and that Leon accepts that help. I also really liked how specific yet clean the trigger and flashback were – it made sense, and conveyed the horror of the memory without giving me trauma.
There were two places where I would…[Read more]
