Just wondering… Does anyone else do this?
While researching some stuff for school about Soviet era factories, I ran into The Picture. I’ve had this picture saved on my phone for years because the girl in it struck me in that “Story Detector” bit of my brain. I don’t know who she really was, or if I’ll even ever write her story as I hear it…[Read more]

Winifrith has come to share a lot of my own struggles just as she shares a similar background. Because of this development, she’s been in my head lately. After getting splatted by you, I mentioned doing my next defense as her. 🙂

*stumbles from beneath an insurmountable snow ball*
I LIVE!
Hidden words in world unknown gleamed in her blade. Winifrith tuned it and watched the reflected fire dance across the ceiling. A blade of Elisai, forged in the breath of the Lighted One. Some things were too sacred for wonder to grasp.Â
She sheathed it home by her…[Read more]

Well, yes. I’m an intense history/culture nerd. My typical interests cover clothing/daily life/religion. I don’t remember any good references off the top of my head right now. However, I’m always up for a challenge! I need to be looking into the 1900s anyway for a project today, sooo…
If I find anything I’ll share it.

Oh! *Squeel of glee* I love it. Her perspective is so different. And it made a lot more sense. Lol.
(Also something Calion would get himself into. Just saying.)

A girl in red plaid sits in the college library. Dreadful words – Assignment Due Tomorrow and Proyecto de Clase de Español? -waltz across the screen before her weary eyes. Those words have no business in libraries. Her sanctuary is become her prison. She sighs and clicks on her phone.

I was holding onto hope that as long as your account hadn’t gone “anonymous” you’d still come back. How are the charries? November, Ara, Luna, Jocelyn, Grimm and Miss Raven? Any adventures? I’m trusting November recovered from the non-canon bout of scurvy.
I’m still writing… Running into plot…[Read more]

Yay! Congratulations and a cup of cold cider! That was really good. The Black Mongoose struck again. Struck our heartstrings, that is.
I’m glad you went ahead and judged it. I meant to step out last night. My second story was not coming. Besides, these stories were all really good.

I expanded what I had to 202 words, but it’s still really flash fiction. Let me see if I can get my other idea in order.

Lol. This is hilarious. I finally wrote a short story I would consider submitting for this and it’s just 179 words long. Back to the drawing board. XD

I was wondering if that was the inspiration. Rhoda is one of my favorite Bible characters. XD

Hmm.
…
I like it. 😄 I’m still suspicious about all this new governor has in mind, which is good in a literary sense. The events make sense even as they toss the next bit into suspense. This version is less intense than the previous one, but I liked having a period of quiet worry about what would happen suddenly change to…[Read more]

By the way, this article isn’t (or maybe it is) about psychological suffering, but since I’m pretty sure it’s point is what you’re intending in your stories, I’ll share it. It definitely changed the way I think of pain.
And it’s hilarious, so you know. Thought you’d enjoy.…[Read more]

Ok, I will say that I enjoyed how it was carried off in this section. I agree with what @linus-smallprint said about that. It reminded me of The Healer by Dee Henderson. (A book about facing the grief of a broken world.) Very good.
What I say is redundant is the fact that it feels like more characters are dying than those who…[Read more]

Eeellllllleeeeeeetttttttte………
Why shouldn’t you kill them? Well, because it’s getting redundant. I love your story and your characters. The setting has a unique feel of its own and the characters are compelling to say the least. However, unless you have a brand-new absolutely unseen point to make with more death, it may…[Read more]

Ugh. Walking Pneumonia hit my sisters a month ago. It’s frustrating when the cough won’t go away or even do anything other than bruise your throat. I’ll be praying for you. *Adds honey to the tea* Honestly, we all need to rest sometimes. It’s okay to take your…[Read more] - Load More
