So … how does this work? Do we just insert things from our characters’ POVs from our own stories? Sorry, I haven’t been on KP in a while, so I’m late to the party.

Hey! I love Harry Potter too! Nice to meet you! Around here, I’m known as Tráhia the Minstrel. I write clean YA Fantasy and am currently writing a no-magic medieval-esque story about two princes from different families who are enemies.
Have you ever read Brandon Sanderson’s books? I’m just curious.
Or Keeper of the…[Read more]

I’d either choose The Mysterious Benedict Society (cause both its major plot twists were spoiled for me before I read it😢) or the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers. Because. The. End. Of. The. Second. Book. Was. So. GOOD.
Honestly, reading that for the first time was epic.
It’s funny. The books I go into with low exp…[Read more]

Things unchristian directors could do with my book … oh help.
They’d probably try to make out this beautiful, really close, boy-boy brother-like friendship I have into something else … if you know what I mean. And they’d probably cause conflict between that and another friendship/frenemyship one of the boys has with another main boy cha…[Read more]

Indi’s story sounds so fun!!! Here’s a couple questions:
-How does Indi feel about her dad? Since his oddities have made her an oddball, does she resent him? And since her mom went along with the strange names, how does she feel about her?
-How does Indi feel about her dad’s line of work? Does she admire him? Wish he was norma…[Read more]

I cannot agree with you more about parent characters! And “happily-ever-after” stories sometimes frustrate me, too… They don’t reflect reality, and I’m a BIG supporter of fiction reflecting reality. 🙂
That’s so cool! Hopefully, I get to meet those characters someday. 😉

I’m with Ara on this one; Riven is HORRIBLE!!! I love the way you described him, tho, especially:
The way his tone dipped in the most subtle, cutting ways…
*grinz* Lovely, m’friend. Absolutely lovely!!!

Here’s a scene I’m fairly happy with. It needs rewritten, but it’s a good start. 🙂 It’s the first scene in my fantasy WIP in which the villain makes an appearance.
The girl was riding it now. The boy had let her have a turn. Her laughter lilted down through the sky to where he crouched in the shadow of the trees. He didn’t dare move. He could not…
