I really like using Scrivener and ProWritingAid. I also use Abbie Emmons’ 3-Act Story Structure worksheet and How to Write a Novel Using the Snowflake Method by Randy Ingermanson.
I also have a second blog with a page for a bunch of resources (click here). 🙂

@golden-knight Hey there! Welcome to the Kingdom!
Ooh, the Scribble Society looks really intriguing! I’ll give you guys a follow. 🙂
A few questions to get to know you…
What genres do you write? What is your WIP about? Do you have any other hobbies outside of writing?

@scoutfinch180 I’m thinking One Story looks the most promising, since they are very open to new authors! Plus they just opened up submissions again!

@imwritehere1920 Ooh, needle felting! I think I’ve seen that before! Never tried it, though. I like playing piano, making music, and sometimes I do embroidery.

Lin replied to the topic Subgenres–Helpful or a Hindrance? in the forum Fantasy 5 years, 3 months ago
@larchness I remember looking at this before. It was very fun.
1. Mine is definitely series fantasy. Other genres that my other things might fall into would be low fantasy, urban fantasy, eastern fantasy…
2. I just write what feels familiar, so no, usually. Sometimes, though, I might say, “I really want write an eastern or wuxia fantasy right…[Read more]

@larchness This is a good question! Personally, I feel like trying to fit your story into a specific subgenre could be really difficult and limiting. My novel is historical fantasy — kinda. It breaks some of those “rules” because it actually takes place in a different world, but it’s based on America in the Victorian era. I didn’t necessarily…[Read more]

EpicAddie2 replied to the topic What's your biggest excuse for not writing? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years, 3 months ago
@kathleenramm Likewise! Lately though it’s been my laptop that’s the biggest distraction. Which is a problem because my novel is on my laptop. *facepalm* Before, I could just turn my phone off and write on my laptop for hours but now I get so distracted. :/ I’m trying to work on that though.

@abigail-m Wow, that’s actually super cool! It’s awesome that you were able to find the perfect location. I’ve always been kind of interested in the cultures of people in really cold places like Norway and Russia. I’m not sure why XD Someday I’d like to write a story in that setting!
@gracie-j Hi! Ooh, you write HF too? What’s your favorite time…[Read more]

@kathleenramm Hello!
Ooh, I have yet to read Mere Christianity. I can’t wait for that one. My favorite of his books thus far (besides Narnia of course) is probably The Great Divorce. I also really enjoyed Surprised By…[Read more]

@nova21 Aw, do you really think so? Haha, I wish I was going into film sometimes. But right now I’m on the path of “Most probably not.”

@imwritehere1920 My favorite part of Fahrenheit 451 was probably when Beatty was lecturing Montag. I do love villain speeches.
As for the inspiration behind my WIP, it’d probably be one of my other short stories and Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. I came up with it in a week when I was really stressed.

@issawriter7 You definitely need to read it if you liked Fawkes! Have you read her series? I’ve yet to read it but I really really REALLY want to XD As soon as I haveÂ
anyenough money I’m going to buy the series. 🙂@writerlexi1216 Pleasure to meet you! I do indeed like coffee. *accepts mug gladly* I don’t drink too much coffee so it’s always a…[Read more]

@abigail-m Thank you!
Thanks! XD I’m glad my terrible summary didn’t leave you super confused lol. I love all kinds of stories too XD What are some of your favorite genres?
@issawriter7 Hi!! I agree, Fawkes is SOOO GOOD. Have you read any other books by Nadine Brandes? I read Romanov somewhat recently and it was really good too!

@epicaddie2Aw, that sounds great!
I’m working on several WIPs right now, actually! One of which is a novella about a detective trying to find a criminal that his dad put behind bars years ago, and a former mob boss trying to start his life over.
