Annnd I’m back XD
Well @power I didn’t know how to sword fight when you wrote that comment but I’ve tried it out at a stunt park recently so I know a little bit about it! That knowledge may come in handy, thanks! (Given I need to write battle scenes and know near nothing about them XD) *points sword back at you, begins duel*

Madelyn replied to the topic You have the ability to read a book for the first time again… in the forum Topic of the Week 2 years, 5 months ago
Off the top of my head, The Chronicles of Narnia. I listened to the Focus on the Family version growing up (which was amazing), but when I finally picked up the books, I already practically knew them by heart. So, in a way, I never got to read it for the “first time” because I already knew the stories so well.

Hey y’all!
So, I’m dipping my toes into allegories…
Who am I kidding, I’m diving right in!!
I would love all y’all’s input on this subject! Namely, what are some of your favorite Christian allegorical stories and what made them impactful? What parts drove to your heart? Narnia is definitely on the top of my list of Christian allegories, so i…[Read more]

Hey there, fellow Wingfeather lover!! It’s great to have you! Love your username 😉
Yesss, the ending of the Warden and the Wolf King was… intense. Honestly, I accidentally spoiled that *thing we don’t speak of* by reading this forum thread (though I wasn’t even a member of KP at the time), so unfortunately I…[Read more]

Madelyn replied to the topic Have you ever written a story that took place in your hometown? in the forum Topic of the Week 2 years, 6 months ago
Honestly, I’ve never even thought of it!! It’s such a neat idea, though! Maybe I’ll give it a try sometime 😉
What sort of twists did you add to your towns?

Okay, so I wrote up this super long thing… but I lost it :'(
Let’s see how much I can remember…
I love the sound of your middle grade novel!! It sounds just like something I would pick up at a library!
Here are a bunch of maybe’s and questions to get the creative juices pumping…

I love them too! The Arlington’s names are honestly what makes them come alive to me, haha… and I love Indi!.. and everyone else, now that I mention it.
Anyway, thank you, and I agree 🙂

Ooh, those questions are super helpful and thought-provoking! I’ve thought of some of them before, but I’ll definitely use them to keep the plot churning!
(And if you ever think of more, please don’t hesitate… the further I get this, the better!)

Equally important second things second: my YA fantasy.
I’m not even writing this one until NaNo (for now I’m focusing on the above story and editing past ones), but I want to start getting comfortable with the idea and turning ideas around in my head. I want this to be a trilogy, and I don’t have enough story for that yet, so I’d love anything…[Read more]

First things first: the middle-grade contemporary.
Indium Grace Arlington lives a pretty normal life for a 10-year-old… except for her crazy family, whose escapades are generally the talk of the whole town. (Not that the town is that big, of course.)
Okay, so maybe her life isn’t all that normal.
I mean, they were kind of doomed from the…[Read more]

Okay, y’all, I need a brainstorming partner… or two… or as many as I can find, haha…
It’ll actually be for two separate projects. One is a middle-grade contemporary novel, and the other is a YA fantasy. If you’re up for helping me brainstorm, either (or both!) need work, so anyone who can, pretty much? I’ll give the tags here, and then put…[Read more]

Ooh, that is helpful!! That’s something I do too–refer to WIPS by their acronyms. (Which is funny, because WIP itself is an acronym. We writers like our acronyms, don’t we? XD)
