Hey guys, this warms my heart.

@waterlily The standard way to get around age limits is to use the joint venture approach. Basically, someone older than you (a parent, probably) agrees to be part of what you’re doing. They can create an account on MailChimp and let you use it. If they ever stopped letting you use it, legally that would be fine unless you had signed some sort of contract or something, but a parent is never going to do that to you.

@ariel-ashira Well, this isn’t really something I think about a whole lot because I tend to have a good grip on my characters so I just always do what feels right for them and it pretty much turns out. I guess though personally, if I had a brother I thought was dead show up alive I would probably rush him and hug him.

@jenwriter17 Yeah, what Kate said is huge. If you have part 2 of my Show Don’t Tell Course, I have a whole lesson on live scenes there, but basically a live scene is the literary version of a camera taking in everything that’s happening in a scene. No time is skipped. An overview is like when someone tells you what happened at their birthday party. They’ll give a good impression of what happened, but they’ll brush over certain parts and generalize what happened.
Another that’s really increased my word count is upping my expected word count per chapter. I used to aim for 2,000 words per chapter, letting myself write longer or shorter ones when I felt I needed to. Now, I’ve consciously decided to push myself to write 5,000 word chapters on average. In order to make sure these chapters aren’t filled with fluff, I’ve had to expand my subplots and explore my characters more deeply. It’s actually been really good for me.
When I outlined my novel too, I did it with the expectation that it would be about 250,000 words. I didn’t know how I would meet that word count yet, but I had set the expectation so I started to work toward meeting. it.

Hey friends,
Could you pray for a friend of the family? The dad just died in a car accident, leaving behind a wife and ten or eleven kids. 😢

I’m going to the Teach Them Diligently in Ohio here.

One tip: try to match the mood of the tune with the mood of the words to as fine a degree as possible.

@devastate-lasting I’m actually not sure how to get to the resource library without resubscribing to KP, so I’m not seeing whatever you’re looking at. It sounds though like some of the resources that used to be there aren’t there anymore?
I’m thinking they might have gotten moved over to the Story Embers resource library. I know they have the plotting resource over there. Not sure why they wouldn’t be here anymore. Maybe Reagan and Josiah decided they shouldn’t have the same resources on two sites and that Josiah should take the resources with him.

@ariel-ashira 😀 Great work.

Oops. I mean the Writer’s Rank Advancement Guide.

@kaymart I would check out Story Embers‘ writers’ journey plan. It’s got a whole section of resources on plotting.

@ariel-ashira To scare away the foxes, of course.

@kate-flournoy Well, maybe someday. (You know, like when gifs start working for you.)

@filewriterbase13x I think it would be cool if you could fit my turtles in somehow.
