@kate-flournoy Yeah, I guess writing is almost a bible study tool. I’m not sure it helps me concentrate though. I’m likely to be distracted memorizing my ideas so that I won’t forget them. It was really bad when I got the first two lines of my “On I comes a Dwappaling” poem strike me out of nowhere during a sermon and I kept repeating them to…[Read more]

@sleepwalkingmk I actually get most of my writing ideas from sermons. I tend to approach my stories by starting out with a very basic plot idea and then filling in the rest of it by coming at it from a thematic viewpoint. Sermons being filled with heaps of good thematic material, I tend to come away with lots of plot ideas.

@mark-kamibaya @michael-stanton
I suppose it would be helpful to a degree. I think the disadvantages would outweigh those however. For one, a person may be super helpful with ten subjects, but not with five and so they would get tagged for stuff they don’t know much about. Also, people would use it too often. Especially considering that the most…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy Sounds like someone I know. Is this Mrs. Keussal (or however you spell their name)?

@jess That’s sweet. I always wanted to do that. I did fencing for about 2 1/2 years as a foil and did a little informal study into the rapier, small sword, and broadsword. Of course, fencing isn’t entirely true to traditional sword fighting, but the basics of it are still the same. Do you do medieval broadswords, rapiers, other? Ever done it with…[Read more]

And along with Kate’s note, please don’t get too carried away and allow this to become twenty-page topic since I’m supposed to keep an eye on all comments as a moderator.

@jess Really? Is it fencing, traditional sword fighting, stage fighting, or some sort of modern swordsmanship?

Corissa/Anne I don’t know if I’ve ever asked myself that question. I might have. I ask myself a lot of questions, but can’t generally remember them.

@kate-flournoy *hands you WD-40* Here, spray this all over yourself. He’ll like you then.
I’m really sorry about that, by the way. If you want me to have a talk with him, I can.

Yep. Youtube, Emma.
@kate-flournoy I have? This is an existential crisis moment. But he disliked me a little? That’s. Absolutely. Terrible! *hides in a hole and covers top* What if I gave him youtube. Then he could watch the king of random and oh! he would be so happy and would no doubt love me for it. Right? Right?
Right?

@emma-flournoy Um, well, communication isn’t his stronghold of course, but he is good at summarizing things. Do people actually look at your manuals? Just give them links to youtube videos is my suggestion.

@kate-flournoy I’ll make sure to be armed with some WD-40 when I meet him. That way if he is a bad guy and captures me, I can always ransom myself. Does this world have WD-40? If not, I’ll be extra safe.
