@bluejay Nope, I don’t have it. Sorry. 🙁 But that sounds like an interesting business to have!
@seekjustice That sounds like a fun game.
Yeah, we’ve got flags everywhere. American flags, state flags, sometimes other flags as well, for organizations, always placed under the American and state flags. And if you go down South you do have the…[Read more]

Maybe we just don’t play it in our family. we tend to play a game where we all choose a brand of car and tally up the numbers that drive past, and whoever gets the most wins 😀
Well, Australians are definitely much less up there on the flags. Only government buildings and the odd private house has a flag (though, there’s a house in…[Read more]

I LOVE KEANNA! Gavinaugh’s books are my favorite from that series. The Wars of the Realm series is good but I was a little bit disappointed in the last book. It didn’t seem to flow as well. Have you read the Knights of Arrethrae series?
Perhaps we should find a carpenter and force…I mean ask for some new ones. 🙂

WHY DID NO ONE TAG ME THAT YOU’RE BACK?????
You probably don’t remember me because I only started being active on the forums about two months before you left us without a doctor (by the way, there was a lot of dragon fire after you left and no one to heal us), but welcome back!

@bluejay Ah, that makes me feel better for Australians. I’m glad you have the alphabet game. 😉 That’s funny though, that you find X to be a hard letter. We can easily find it on all the “Exit” signs along the highways. X is one of the absolute easiest letters to find. I’ve never heard of “quote” signs. @seekjustice do you have any idea…[Read more]

@seekjustice Ah yes, Bottle-o was mentioned in the video as well.
The alphabet game is a game played in the car where you basically look at road signs, license plates, or anything you can see to find each letter of the alphabet in order. I believe it’s one of the most common car games in America. Since “q” is one of the least used letters, w…[Read more]

Bottle shops is the technical word, they are actually referred to as the “bottle-o” though.
I may need some clarification on the alphabet game.
😀 My brother and I were just discussing the difference between Aussie patriotism and US patriotism.

@catwing I’d love to word war. (It might help us both with our procrastination. 😉 )
@jenwriter17 Hi! How’s it going?

@seekjustice I’ve been watching a YouTube video on the differences between American, British, and Australian English. 😀
The difference that really stuck out to me was that the Australian person in the video said you don’t have “Liquor stores” you have “bottle shops.” Is that true? And if so, how do you play the alphabet gam…[Read more]

I just looked up the genre conventions of dystopian fiction and my novel includes all of them, though they are pretty severely underdeveloped 😀

But, technically speaking, its hardly a contemporary… 😛

I know, I seem to have worked myself into a tight genre spot. I can’t really think what I could market it as though. It doesn’t really fit anyway.
Oh well, I’ll see how it turns out after the third draft.

I know. But I’m so easily distracted! And yes, I know you want to read Wattle Fire 😀
oh, and I liked what you said about the worldbuilding. That actually makes a lot of sense, because I’m not entirely sure why I find the worldbuilding for SFI so difficult, since I’ve found the worldbuilding for Wattle Fire, which has a lot more intense…[Read more]

Maybe I just like letters? I write a lot in real life.
I’ll have to think over all the stuff you’ve said, but I did just want to point out that he does move from the Capital to his current house. He grew up in the Capital and that’s where his business was. He moved to his cool garden after the financial crisis.

@valtmy I see. Yes, regarding worldbuilding that makes sense.
Well, in that case I think Jean would be stupid to be living still in the same city instead of relocating to another city or country. The world is huge, and he can go anywhere he wants to, as he has a lot of money (I think that was established, right?) so why would he stay right t…[Read more]

@seekjustice Oh, and I don’t mean that Caderousse herself is necessarily a spy per se. Just that she seems to be acting like one in the hypothetical you proposed. If she’s targeting one particular person for one particular reason, rather than crime in general, she’d likely have some sort of spy system looking out specifically for what Jean is d…[Read more]
