@avacoulter Thank you!! It’s fun to write with her, we’ve been writing together for years but have never published anything together. Hopefully this project will be the one! That’s cool that you have so many siblings! I have three of them myself 🙂 If you ever need another beta reader, feel free to let me know! I’d be happy to help 😀
Yeah it’s…[Read more]

Hullo! Welcome to KP.
I’m Anatra, and also a big Marvel fan. Do you have a favorite Marvel movie? Are you up to date on Hawkeye?
Random question, do you think socks belong on chair feet?

@avacoulter I have one WIP I’m working on with my sister! It’s a fantasy/mystery that takes place in a medieval-style city. The story follows two women as they uncover things about the mystery individually until their storylines intersect and they join forces to stop a big political coup from happening. We were initially inspired by old buddy cop…[Read more]

@avacoulter Ahh your WIP sounds so interesting! I like the Maze Runner too!! I’ve only read the first book but I’ve seen all the movies with my sister.
Yeah lyrics are pretty distracting, I can’t focus on writing at all with lyrics playing in the background XD

@avacoulter Welcome to Kingdom Pen! I’m Jodi, I mostly write fantasy these days, though I also write dystopia and historical fiction when I feel like it XD. And I’m also a big Marvel and LOTR fan!
Some questions:
What were the inspirations for your WIP (if you have one right now)?
Do you listen to music while writing or do you prefer silence? I…[Read more]

Jodi Maile replied to the topic Have you ever considered quitting writing? Why or why not? in the forum Topic of the Week 2 years, 11 months ago
@trahia-the-minstrel Yes!! It’s so hard for me to move into writing a new book, editing is one of my favorite parts. I feel like it’s easier to see the light at the end of the tunnel when I’m almost done editing, you know? Like all the effort is about to pay off, because I’m almost done with the project, and it’ll be published soon or something…[Read more]

@kathleenramm Yes. I actually have quit writing before. I just thought I was never going to measure up as a writer on my own, since I’m always so harsh on my own work. I lose faith in it and just hate it and then delete it or abandon it entirely. That had been going on for about seven years before I tentatively stepped into writing again last…[Read more]

@kathleenramm
No way! My first story was fanfic too!! XD -

Oof, painful topic. Can’t say I’ve had too many of these ideas, as no idea is too wild for my lil brain from when I wrote the most.
Though, when I was like, eight, my best friend and I wrote a book about two girls who got kidnapped and were rescued. That’s like, the premise of the whole thing. With a dorky happy clumsy crime-boss…[Read more]

YESS!!! I had actually watched two before number one, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen it, so I DEFINITELY need to do a re-watch too.

Mmm, as much as I loved One’s debate (and Harper B]) I’m a sucker for political shows like Two. I ate up the drama, and it has breached my top 10 moves that nearly made my eyes leak. So I’d have to say Two. Tho I seriously need to rewatch them.

You’re good. Yes, I did get the email!! Sorry for my late response. The weekend was busy and then school slammed on me right after that, but I plan to be catching up to all my emails this evening. *GASPS*Â EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I AM SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shortest story to write: That’d be the first novel I completed at like 12 years old. I wrote it in a month, and I have no idea how long it was, probably less than 50K but maybe not. I wrote it by hand, and I was probably able to finish it so quickly because I had a lot of free time on my hands. I was homeschooled with few other hobbies, y’all.…[Read more]

Of course!!! 🙂
THEY ARE!!!!! I’ve seen one and two. Oooo that’s a hard one. I don’t know if I can pick one. I really LOVED number one because Shane Harper was in it, but then again, I just adored the plotline of number two following the teacher. I don’t think I can pick. XD I’m just gonna say both of them. Which one’s your favorite?

@elanor Great question! I wrangled with this for a long time in one of my stories. Here’s what I figured out from all that research and whatnot:
Think of the environment and how you can create environmental obstacles. In Avatar Volume 3, there are two episodes where Sokka and Zuko have to escape from a high-security Fire Nation prison surrounded…[Read more]

Okay, so I’m probably just going to repeat what everyone else has already said since I only skimmed a few of the replies. yeah, I’m lazy. 😂
But I TOTALLY get your question. This is something I’ve been wondering about a lot lately actually. And actually, in my novel, Heir to His Crown, there is a rebellion group that my main character…[Read more]

That’s a GREAT question!!! And actually, I’m in desperate need of some help in this area too with my novel. 😅 So I don’t know how much help I’ll be, but a few things I’m trying to remember with my scene (but seriously, if you guys have ANY tips, I need some too) is to (1) see what everyone else is doing and just… don’t do thatÂ
that…[Read more] - Load More
