(also I know this is a WW2 historical fiction story but I can’t help but imagine them as having technological advancements for some reason. Maybe it’s because the way this story is going, it kinda reminds me of what  my brother and I come up with.)

@esther-c Honestly, the very fact that you can come up with an idea and have it as a short story is great, when I have ideas they always either turn into a whole saga or become a scene in a larger work.

I like how the female duck is called Serpentine, a long, majestic, complicated name (how’d she get it anyway?) and then the male duck is just Bob. Brilliant.

Ending’s a bit choppy, but that’s nothing editing can’t fix.

This is a book I’d totally read!! I’ve actually been reading too many books outside of the genre I write lately. XD Authors are always saying you should read lots of books in your genre, but I enjoy reading his-fic so much! lol! I really love this idea though! Be sure to tag me if you post any snippet of it. 😊
