I don’t know what kind of warning to give for this, maybe just that it concerns orphans and some violence?
This is really interesting because I was thinking about this myself. My MC Elinor (and Aedan) were abused by their guardians the Dickinsons, who they lived with between the ages of 5 and 14. I show only a few scenes…[Read more]

I agree with what you’ve been saying, so I’ll try not to be redundant . . . I would say, definitely don’t write explicit descriptions of the “real” magic in this world, the kind of demon-possession and occult witchcraft that…[Read more]

@everyone
I forgot, I wrote a play when I was nine or so that has long since beenÂ
destroyedlost. It was very suspenseful, mostly because the princess lost her crown and the queen’s servant was rude to her, or something like that. And don’t ask me why the two cowgirls show up in the princess’s throne room . . .*hides in embarrassment*

Sorry I didn’t respond earlier, but anyway, yes, @starofthenorth is my sister and we are great co-conspirators!
And the wee hours of the morning are the BEST time to talk all things WIPs, character romances, etc. 😀 🤣
Oh yes, my brain works great then, LOL! I’m super tired because I was up late last night . . . got an idea and had to…[Read more]

Great topic! Let me go check my playlist real quick . . .
Okay, for Elinor, I think Metamorphosis II, a sad Scottish fiddle tune called My Nanny O, and “Life” by Ludovico Einaudi fit really well. I know, they’re all instrumental, but I find…[Read more]

@kathleenramm @sarafini @koshka @godlyfantasy12@starofthenorth
My MC Elinor (A Dream Come True) is an introvert, as is my current MC Brooke (Swallowtail Summer). But Elinor’s brother Aedan is probably an E, and so is Brooke’s sister Claire. Brooke’s friend Ruby is probably a little of both . . . maybe a weak E? She used to be more E, but after…[Read more]

Awesome job with the moodboards! I hadn’t heard of them before KP, and I love how they can express so much. I want to make some now!
That’s so beautiful and sweet! Good job!
Yeah, in the books, Frodo was so much sweeter and more heroic. In the movies he’s just…there 😂😅. Legolas does have an appealing personality doe…

I’ve played the violin since September, I believe. But I’m not a super beginner, bc I already know how to read music, it’s just a matter of fingering and bowing right. (Which is hard! 😆)
Ok, cool! Yeah, the bowing . . . my teacher’s working with me a lot on relaxing and playing deep into the string, which I find so hard! Keep it up thoug…[Read more]

OMG, y’all have read the Bronze Bow?!?! It’s so good isn’t it? 🙂 I read it back in 6th grade. I loved it.
Yes it’s so good! Have you read any of Elizabeth George Speare’s other books? The Witch of Blackbird Pond is my favorite (It’s not about a real witch; it’s set in Puritan New England where a girl is falsely accused of bei…[Read more]

Hi, sorry I didn’t respond sooner!
I’m Arien, LOTR nerd, writer, and violinist and I love volleyball and dogs too! (Although I prefer cats. But I’m biased, I have an adorable tuxedo cat!)
How long have you played the violin? I love the violin so much! It’s so beautiful! Do you have a favorite violinist? I like Anne Akiko Meyers and…[Read more]

Sorry, I’m finally getting around to this! This thing called life happened, and gave me reason #389 that I don’t like college!
So hi! I’m Arien, also a Christian writer! Great to see another homeschooler around, too. I was homeschooled until 11th grade.
There aren’t many questions left for me to ask, but here are some!

I have read The Bronze Bow. 😉 I love that book. XD She portrayed Jesus so well, and I love Daniel, Thacia, Joel, Daniel’s sister, who I always forget her name, lol, my bad, and oh my goodness, SAMSON!!!!! I love him so much. xD *sniff sniff* So sad about what happened…but at least it saved Daniel…

 I followed the sound of a woodpecker through the woods in the blistering heat, my bare feet in the cold water of a creek. It was a pretty stupid decision, now that I look back at it. There’s a lot of snakes in that area 🙁 :O. I eventually found it, it was very pretty, and I think it was a red headed woodpecker or a pileated wo…

I love your new tag. Amen! It reminds me of this quote from The Warden and the Wolf King by Andrew Peterson.
“We face the enemy with steady hearts, for Dawn has conquered Dark since the Maker spoke the world. The night is deep, but light runs deeper.”
Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus.

I love his song Nuvole Bianche so much that I spent weeks learning how to play it. (I don’t care for the words as much). Have you ever heard it? The name means White Clouds.
I have not heard it but I’ll have to look it up!
I am listening to Metamorphosis II. It is very beautiful!
I know, right? I love it so much!! 😊

Across Five Aprils is so good! Which other book by Elizabeth George Speare have you read? Sign of the Beaver, Bronze Bow, and Calico Captive are also good!

Our world is broken. That’s why these things happen. I am extremely sad for this family but joyful that they know Jesus and the salvation He offers. May He keep them in His perfect peace, because He works everything together for the good of those who love him (Romans 8: 28).
I will keep Athena’s family as well as the man who…[Read more]
