Yes, Mr. Brocklehurst is absolutely horrible. I often wish I could shake some sense into a character, but it is very rare that I mentally strangle them. The way he twisted Scripture made me furious, not to mention his other crimes. Ugh!

I have read/ listened to Jane Eyre. I enjoyed it and thought it was deeply intriguing and surprisingly sweet. Although in full confession, I didn’t really want Jane to marry Rochester. XD

But the end was satisfactory.

Yes!!  I am attempting to have a sort of adoption story in my Eirtan books, but it’s a bit different, (a subplot) dwelling on the complexities of identity and personal callings.

Yes! Parent-child relationships are definitely one of my absolute favorites. And there’s always something special about adoption.

I devour mentor-apprentice relationships, especially when they both need each other, and even more especially when at least one has a painful past.

Then again, siblings are absolutely fantastic. I mean, where else do you get such wonderful loving contention? XD

I love sibling relationships — I’m particularly fond of brother-brother relationships. It sounds like you’re writing epic fantasy — correct if I’m wrong — but if so having a larger cast isn’t bad. Read Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive series if you want to see a huge cast handled magnificently.

I’ve read Jane Eyre, I own both the actual book and the manga classic edition. I enjoy the story lots! Jane is a great character, and her relationship with Mr. Rochester is so sweet … and I loved the part at the start with her and Helen, as well. Made me quite sad/touched when I first read it.
