I am reviewing what I’ve managed to write on my phone yesterday and it’s… 😅 Hope today will be better.
Still slaving away at my editing. I’m getting closer to the end but I had to kill Rain again and that was upsetting 😢

Ooh yeah that feeling sucks 🙁
Since I’ve never really completed a novel-length project like this before, how different would you say your first and second drafts are in terms of the writing? I think the reason why I am progressing so slowly is because I am pressuring myself to get the prose all right the first time so I want to put the difference between the writing stage and the editing phase in perspective.

@valtmy For me, I tend to concentrate on plot and characters in the first draft and who cares whether the words make any sense or not (as I’ve been reading through my draft I sometimes stop and stare at the ridiculous things I’ve written 😛 ). In the second draft, I embellish the plot and make sure the characters are consistent and that things make sense and I also make sure the writing makes sense, even if its still not the greatest prose ever. In my third draft, I’m hopefully going to be happy with my characters/plot and that is when I’ll really knuckle down to the prose, grammar, punctuation and making it sound beautiful 😀But that’s just my way of doing things, I’m sure people do it differently.
