Well, you didn’t mention that it would be the character I’d fall in love with! I mean, seriously. You had so many characters, and you had to kill Zac. But then, the reason I love him so much is because he was willing to give his life for Justice, so…guess there’s not much you can do about that.

I did think about it being Jonas, but I eventually decided that it would work better if Jean did it, and then there was no place to put that in very well, so I gave it to Sapphire instead.
Because I honestly didn’t think you’d like Zac…especially after the greeting that you gave him at the start.

@seekjustice If Jonas did it, Chessy would listen. If Jean did it, Chessy would at least try to listen. But you’re having Sapphire do it? Chessy’s just going to get mad, isn’t she? 😛
Yes, but that’s the best kind of character. One you don’t really know until the end of the book when he surprises you. It was the same way with Kendall. I thought he was boring and annoying, and then when Waif died I was crushed, and then when Kendall died I decided he was amazing. 🙂
But Zac is way better. 😛
Oh, by the way…you aren’t going to put a real romance in there with Kendall and Rain, are you? That would be too much, in my opinion. The little hints you gave in the original version were plenty, but it seems like you’re emphasizing it more in this draft since your readers liked Rain so much. What do you think?

She took it better than I thought she might have otherwise, but she’d just had that conversation with Justice where she got upset because he wouldn’t forgive his family and she’s just about to have her “official apology” conversation with Sapphire, so I think its okay 😀

Yes, I thought Zac was a horrible character when was first introduced to him, as you remember. 😛 I think all of us complained about him after those first couple of chapters. And now we count him as the best character!
Hm, okay. Well, I’ll have to refrain from giving an opinion until I read it. 😉 I actually do like the romance between Kendall and Rain, I just think that since you have two big romance plots already, a third would feel sort of silly. So I’m sure I won’t dislike it – I never dislike your writing 😛 – but I’m not sure if I’ll like it for the book. Does that make sense? I mean from an editor’s point of view.
Ok, I’m going to sign off now. I’ll probably be on for a little while tomorrow, but I don’t think for long, since it’s Independence Day, and we’ll be visiting relatives, barbecuing, shooting off fireworks and that sort of stuff. @seekjustice I just had two hours to write in the car on the way to my uncle’s house for our Independence Day celebration. I was writing another story, (not my western,) and then I realized that my hero was starting to sound exactly like Zac. 😮 Now I’m frantically trying to think of all the ways he won’t be like Zac so he won’t sound like he’s your character. 😛

@seekjustice Ok, so I’ve discovered that he’s not really like Zac after all. He was a new character, so at my first introduction to him he felt like Zac, but now that I know him better he’s my very own character and not yours. 😛
We’re going to shoot off fireworks soon, but I’m having a really good writing day, and I don’t want to take a break… 😉 Is that bad? 😛
So yes, I’ve been writing for a few hours today already, but it was all in the car with no wifi so I didn’t get on Writers’ Corner. But I’m home now, and will be writing every chance I get in between the celebratory stuff, so are you here?

@seekjustice I actually got called to do fireworks right after posting, so I haven’t been on since then. 🙂
Boy, that was fun! Are you allowed to do fireworks in Australia? We’re only allowed to use small ground fireworks, not ones that shoot up into the sky. If we want to see those we have to go out to some fairground or park where they do them officially. But the rules are different for different states. Our fireworks were still cool, though. 😀
We’re about to do Family Worship, but I’ll be here after that. So in about half an hour, probably.

Fireworks are illegal here, except in Northern Territory, where they are allowed to set off certain fireworks on July 1 for their Territory Day celebration. I actually happened to be in NT one year for Territory Day and it was really fun, even though we didn’t buy any fireworks ourselves.
