@jenwriter17 @valtmy It’s late, but I’ll be here for a short while. 🙂 Are either of you working?
Jen, I just submitted my comments on your document. I’d made them earlier as I was reading, but didn’t complete them until now just to be sure it was fine with you.

July 1, 2018 at 12:29 am #74635@seekjustice I read your blog post. Apparently you’re trying to think of a ship name for Sapphire and Quillon? 😀
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
July 1, 2018 at 1:02 am #74636Haha 😛
I’m happy to call them Sapphire and Quillon but some people like to squash names together and I’m interested in how I can do it 😛

July 1, 2018 at 1:07 am #74637@seekjustice 😛 The first one I thought of was Sapphilon, which feels like a floral name, and would go with their theme of floral language. Two simpler ones I thought of were Quire and Querde, but I don’t think those sound quite right. 🙂 Anyway, I’m not an expert shipper, (Oh yes, I’m sure there is such a thing,) just a homeschooled writer who doesn’t know much about pop culture unless you take me back sixty years… 😉
Also, it was much easier to think up ship names for Chessy and Justice! 😛

July 1, 2018 at 1:26 am #74638Sapphilon does sound pretty, I have to admit. But its just my opinion that any of them starting with a Q don’t sound that great.
Neither am I professional shipper (and yes, there surely must be such things). I don’t usually come up with these sort of things 😉

July 1, 2018 at 5:36 pm #74641@seekjustice I can chat for a little bit, but I’ve got a headache, so I might randomly decide to take a nap without giving you notice. 😉 Just warning you ahead of time. 😛
Did you realize that both times this year Camp NaNoWriMo started on a Sunday for me and a Monday for you, so you got to start day of and I have to wait? 😛

July 1, 2018 at 5:40 pm #74642Okay 😀 (I forgot again. tis Sunday for you)
Technically I do start a day before you, but today’s July 2nd, so I’m still starting a day late 😛
Listening to anything interesting lately?

July 1, 2018 at 5:49 pm #74643@seekjustice Oh, haha! How silly of me. Of course June 1st would be Sunday for you too. So you get to start a day before I do, but you end before I do too. 🙂
Not really. Talking to you about singing groups last night reminded me of a singing group I like, so I’ve listened to a couple of songs by a folk type singing group from the 50s/60s. Not actually one of my favorites, but I like a few of their songs. I prefer solo or duet artists, usually. 😉
In a little while I’ll probably listen to a few hymns by Gordon MacRae/Jo Stafford and Roy Rodgers/Dale Evans or Jim Reeves. That’s what I usually listen to on Sunday.
How about you? Did you end up listening to Slipper and the Rose? Or anything else? Les Mis, as usual? 😛

July 1, 2018 at 10:46 pm #74644@seekjustice Ooooh!! I just got your document! Haha, it would be very unusual for me to be asleep at ten thirty p.m., wouldn’t it? 😛
I just spent a lovely hour and a half singing hymns with a couple of my sisters and brothers at the piano. 😀 😀 😀 Do you ever do that with siblings or friends? I wonder if you know many of the same hymns we sing? We have a friend who was in the army in Afghanistan and started a church service with some Australian soldiers (and other nationalities) where they sang from hymnbooks we sent them, but I have no idea whether they would have known the hymns otherwise. 😉

July 1, 2018 at 10:53 pm #74645You did say you had a headache so I thought you might have gone to bed earlier. Obviously not though 😛
None of us are particularly musically inclined, so not really, but I do love when we do similar things at Youth group.
Well, some of the hymns we sing are “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” (one of my favourites) “Amazing Grace” “Be Thou My Vision” “Old Rugged Cross” “As the Deer” “How Deep the Father’s Love”…
Do you know any of those?

July 1, 2018 at 11:12 pm #74646@seekjustice Oh yes, no, my headache’s gone, thankfully! 😀
Yes, I know most of those. I think “How Deep the Father’s Love” might be what we call a “bridge” hymn, and we don’t sing it possibly for that reason. I’m not sure. I’ve heard it a couple of times when we go to conferences and stuff.  “Come Thou Fount” is one we sing quite often. 🙂 There are a few variations in the lyrics. And I love “The Old Rugged Cross!”
Some of the ones we sang tonight were “Since Jesus Came Into My Heart,” “Count Your Many Blessings,” “Surely Goodness and Mercy,” “Joy to the World,” (because we were in a good mood and didn’t care that it was a Christmas song… 😛 ) and “Because He Lives.” Do you know any of those?

July 1, 2018 at 11:17 pm #74647@seekjustice Don’t take for certain what I said about “How Deep the Father’s Love.” I actually don’t remember what it sounds like or any of the lyrics or anything. I don’t think it’s in our hymnbook, and that’s why I don’t know it better than I do. I have no real idea whether it’s a bridge hymn or not. 😉 That was just a guess.
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
July 1, 2018 at 11:26 pm #74648I just looked up “How Deep the Father’s Love” and it was only written thirty years ago, which surprised me because I thought it was much older than that! It uses really old language and it was written as a hymn, rather than a more modern worship song (and I thought it was written by Wesley or something 😛 )
I believe I’ve heard all those ones, but they aren’t ones we do a lot at church (there’s a bit of divide at our church as to whether we should be singing hymns or “modern” worship songs, so we tend to only sing more popular hymns). By the way, what sort of church do you go to?
