@seekjustice Yup, you definitely have a ready street-team when you’re published π <3
gimme just a moment and I’ll come up with a blurb π Here’s a link to the Pinterest board for it:Β https://www.pinterest.com/jt0651/wip-d-a-n-n-i-s-d-i-l-e-m-m-a-1-2/
I'm a Kapeefer 'TIL WE'RE OLD AND GREY!
www.jennaterese.comJune 22, 2018 at 10:30 pm #74438Cool! I’ll check it out (pray I don’t get lost in the murky depths of Pinterest)!
INFP Queen of the Kingdom commander of an army of origami cranes and a sabre from Babylon.
June 22, 2018 at 10:35 pm #74439@seekjustice here’s the blurb (written in first person; my first time, so tell me what you think π )
<p style=”text-align: center;”>We inherited aΒ farm.

<p style=”text-align: center;”>I could hardly believe the news my parents gave me one not-so-sunny afternoon. They seemed totally ecstatic about the idea of living on a farm like they used to when they were growing up, but in my opinion, city life was the only way to go. Forget about fresh air and wide open spaces!

<p style=”text-align: center;”>Once we finally make that dreaded move to our country home, I discover too many things that aren’t quite my cup of tea. Horses are big and scary, bugs are eating me alive, and dirt is, well…dirty. But when I meet a girl who seems to be the country expert, things just might be looking up.

<p style=”text-align: center;”>But even with the girl’s advice, I had a feeling I was in for the adventure of my life, whether I liked it or not.

Well, it could be better, but I just came up with it on the spot. π

@seekjustice there, let’s hope this works…I'm a Kapeefer 'TIL WE'RE OLD AND GREY!
www.jennaterese.comJune 22, 2018 at 10:43 pm #74443@seekjustice kinda π knowing me, it’ll probably turn into more of a horse story then I planned π But yes, the character learns to not be afraid of horses and eventually learns to ride. π

www.jennaterese.comJune 22, 2018 at 10:46 pm #74444I always liked reading those stories! The more modern ones tended to get on my nerves though (an excuse for disobedient and rebellious girls to one-up everyone else), but I’d love to see a Christian version of those sorts of stories.
Nice pinterest board, by the way.

June 22, 2018 at 10:51 pm #74445@seekjustice Oh I know! Those kinds of characters are everywhere, like it’s necessary for contemporary novels.
Actually, that reminds me, I was gonna probably post the first chapter of the novella for people to critique. The reason being that the MC Danni can overreact and all that, but I don’t want her to sound disrespectful to her parents and their decisions.

www.jennaterese.comJune 22, 2018 at 10:58 pm #74446Yes, its crazy! I hate it very much. π
Well, I don’t necessary have a problem with her being disrespectful or disobeying her parents. My problem comes when the character never changes and its shown to be okay. After all, Chessy can be pretty disrespectful and disobedient toward her father, but I hope that I portrayed that to be bad and made her change.

June 22, 2018 at 11:02 pm #74447@seekjustice Yes, I see what you mean. Yeah you handled that well about Chessy π

www.jennaterese.comJune 22, 2018 at 11:05 pm #74448Well, thank you π And yes, its not so much the character trait, but more the normalisation of it. That’s what makes me mad.

June 22, 2018 at 11:09 pm #74449@seekjustice yeah, same here. *raises pen (and knitting needle)* We must break from this cliche and change the world of contemporary fiction! π

June 22, 2018 at 11:17 pm #74451@seekjustice going well; I forgot how much fun it was to write in this quirky character’s POV π
