@rochellaine Okay, here’s one:
That laugh. It shook Rin’s core and made her shudder. Her ears tingled and her eyes squeezed shut.
Enough.
Rin flung an arm out. Her fist hit Takara full on the cheek.
Takara stumbled back and the soldiers grabbed Rin’s arms. Takara steadied herself and gingerly felt her face. It was already red. “How dare you! You’ll regret this, girl. Oh, trust me, you will.” She stormed out of the cell. The soldiers threw Rin back and she hit the wall. Her spine bruised again the hard surface. The soldiers left and locked the cell.
Rin took a few deep breaths, replaying Takara’s stunned reaction in her mind. God forgive me, I enjoyed that.
That was a little longer than expected, so feel free to post a snippet as long as you want 😉

“How do you feel, Chara?” the nurse asked, coming up to Chara’s bed and smiling at her.
“I want to get up,” Chara answered, lifting the corner of her mouth in an attempt to smile back. Immediately her cheek hurt, and she remembered the burns she had received there. I guess smiling’s out of the question? That’s kind of annoying.

I would like to, but I don’t have access to our computer right now, so I am just using notebooks to work on my plot lines and such while I can’t actually be writing the story.
