March 11, 2024 at 12:46 pm #177630That was really good! I like your characters already. Poor Leon. 🥺

March 11, 2024 at 12:52 pm #177633@theducktator Tysm!! 💕💕 (that means a lot, and considering I’m over here crying over my characters later in this same book rn as I review the edited chapters of my book, that means a lot and makes me feel very good😂)
ahhh tysm, I love them too, lol, who do you think is your fav so far?? (I know there’s not too much you know about them now, but still XD)
Yesss, Leon is such a precious boy💖

March 11, 2024 at 1:31 pm #177649Hmmm, I don’t know. Maybe Leon, since he is not involved in torturing people? Also because he is stubborn. But then, Riker doesn’t like torturing people, and I feel sorry for him.🤔Probably Leon. I also liked how he seemed annoyed at being beat up, rather than scared.

March 11, 2024 at 4:49 pm #177679Leon is an amazing person for sure! <3 Yesssss, his stubbornness is so much fun😂 bahaha, I’m glad you liked that, bc I changed it from the original where he seemed more like he was just taking all of it without complaint…I feel like him being annoyed at getting beaten up is a lot more fun XD

March 12, 2024 at 5:03 pm #177745Agh! This notif got buried in my emails and I almost forgot to reply! Sorry!
That sounds really interesting! So, the Orb is like a giant bubble they are trapped in?
Pretty much. It’s kinda like a screen, so it simulates what the outside should look like, but it’s not very good. So it can start pouring rain and lighting and thunder, but it may take a minute for the Orb to adjust and look like a cloudy sky. I’m not sure how the edges look though, like where you’re supposed to see something like the outside. The things is, the Orb slowly got smaller until it only covered one district, and I can’t decide if the Orb mirrors what it looks like outside of itself or if it comes up with something else.
My grandparents live in Ohio. They have an enormous hill in their backyard, so whenever we visit in winter, we start praying for snow about a month in advance! It worked this year! At my co-op, I’m the only one in my class who loves snow. My tutor always asks for prayer requests in the morning, and between November 1st and Palm Sunday, I always say about 3 feet of snow, and the other kids all look at me and say NO. We got a couple decent snows this year, but never more than 5 inches. Barely enough for sledding.
lol, I love that! XD
I said earlier to my mom that the weather exhausted all its winter last year when it was super cold and was too tired to give us anything good this year. 😂

That sounds very inconvenient to live under. No wonder your characters want to get out. Does just the Orb shrink, or does everything inside it shrink too?
I’m terrified that by the time I get to experience 4 feet of snow I’ll be too old to enjoy it. XD

March 13, 2024 at 6:57 am #177761Why, hello! I love the play on words with your username, by the way. My name is Stephie, I’m in eighth grade, I write as I procrastinate getting chores done, and I wear tank tops in 10 degree weather.
So here are some questions for you to answer:
- Do you like lemon juice with maple syrup on your pancakes?
- Are you a night owl or an early bird? Or, like me, do you kind of switch between the two?
- What is your favourite author?
- What about your favourite character?
- What about your favourite book?
- Do you have a duck as a pet?
- If you had to swap legs with any animal, which would you choose?
So there we are.

March 13, 2024 at 11:28 am #177763Hello! I have never had lemon juice on pancakes before. I do love maple syrup on lemon yoghurt pancakes though. I am definitely a night owl. I am regularly up past midnight reading. I have a lot of favorite authors, including L. M. Montgomery, Louisa May Alcott, Walter R. Brooks, Brandon Sanderson, Nadine Brandes, Jill Williamson, Madeleine L’engle, and Barbara Robinson. My favorite character is Kaladin Stormblessed from The Stormlight Archive. Unfortunately, I do not have a pet duck. I want one, but our homeowners association doesn’t allow poultry. If I had to switch legs with any animal, it would be a gallinule, because of the unique way their toes are spread.

March 15, 2024 at 2:11 am #177847Duck and taters? Probably a decent combination. Add some gravy, smoked paprika, and a tad splash of cream- 😺
Oh, I- errr- WE, beg thy pardon, @theducktator ! We don’t recollect ever granted thou the glorious and grand privilege of make our acquaintance! How impolite and ungracious of us! 🙀
Must attempt to try to try to do better. . . Alas! Another task to burden my abundant schemes and agendas. 😿
I- um- I mean- WE are Power, but, since thou and ourselves shall be such fine chums, thou mayest address us as “His Royal Immensely Benevolent Lowness, the Black Mongoose! May his tail always be shiney!” for short. 😸
I- errr- We. . .
Oh! Peacock pox on the superficial superlative pronouns! 😾
I am sure it’s an honor to make my aquantanceship. You may kiss my paw. 😽🐾
You will love what you spend time with.
March 16, 2024 at 5:50 pm #177943Salutations, Your Royal Immensely Benevolent Lowness, the Black Mongoose! May your tail always be shiney! It is indeed most wonderous to make thine acquaintanceship. If we are to go by formalities here, thou mayest address me as Your Imperial Highness, The Ducktator, Supreme Ruler of All Ducks and Enemy of All Who Eat Duck. As thou hast never heard that title, especially the last part, I shall forgive thy first remark. However, I shall not kiss thy paw, as that would be most unsanitary indeed.
