I couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief.
At least he didn’t ask about the cat yet. I thought.
“Yeah, I can walk.” I responded. I wasn’t sure the cold water would help completely, I was almost sure Fire Face injected something into my hand, but cold water was worth a try to avoid questioning.

Zahlin snarled and sliced his legs free. He rose to his feet, eyeing the creature. He kept his Sword at the ready, prepared to ward off anything this creature might try.

Jeptune felt her web go slack and then no weight was on the other end, turning around, she saw the guy had cut himself loose. She smiled evily as he prepared to take of anything she might throw at him. Well, he probably had never met a shapeshifter. Shifting into a great beaked beast, with powerful legs that propelled it as a speedy running pace, she charged him, beak ready to snap his arm.
Jep doesn’t like to just straight out kill.

Leading her arparound a low wall, Tren brought her to a beautiful flower garden with an entire asortment of gorgeous blooms and bushes untouched by the fire. In the center was a bubbling fountain with light opaque blue water. He led her near and gently set her hand in the pool of water, near the edge where the cold water was still.

“I’m Carrie.” I said, attempting to smile. I was entirely greatful that I was safe, but I hardly ever smiled about anything.
The garden was so beautiful, it seemed the perfect place to escape from chaos. I was wrong to assume the water wouldn’t help, it soothed the pain immensely.
“I could never say thank you enough for getting me out of there.” I said, shaking my head slightly, doubting I had deserved the help.
“Who are you?”

Zahlin dodged out of the way of the creature. What was this thing? He lashed out at it with his Sword. Whatever it was, Zahlin was going to make sure it didn’t survive this encounter.

Jep screeched in utter joy, annoying people and making them mad to the point of wanting to kill her was what she loved best. Shaping back into her drider form, she threw bits of webbing at his feet,making him have to pay more attention.

He headed down the hall. Pretty soon, he heard a clamor.

Some of the anxiety returned, but I didn’t dare show it.
“I don’t know.” I responded. “He ran away.”
I took a deep breath. “Um. So, the fire…” I trailed off, trying to figure out the right words to explain my pet. I had to face the fact – there were no right words.

“Um. So the fire…”
“Oh, yeah, it was probably started by the Gilgannings, don’t worry about it. We don’t have much fire hazards around usually, in fact last time there was a fire, I was just a child. Don’t worry, it most likely won’t happen again. Plus, the flames seem to be during down a little bit now, I’d say it’ll be out by nightfall.” He smiled.
