Also, can’t remember if I posted this, but Gabriel

July 26, 2026 at 11:55 pm #212927Also, Ken. Sorry that it’s a little messy. The flower is Gardenia, which means “Sweet love” or “you’re lovely”

July 26, 2026 at 11:56 pm #212928And another favorite. A quick doodle of Baron trying to get back pain at a young age XD

July 27, 2026 at 10:30 am #212930I really like the last one! And what you said about it! XD
And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who couldn't hear the music
July 27, 2026 at 10:34 am #212931Nice art!! And yes, I love that one with Gabriel. It might be my favorite thing you’ve made

Baron and I have at least one thing in common, then XD
Wait. Wasn’t there a girl named Isabella in Gabriel’s story? I thought they were a thing for some reason. She seemed to really like him.
Anyway, Lillian is pretty! I wouldn’t have expected a merfolk at all so you surprised me
Lucy: *Looks at Lillian with suspicion* *Looks at Gabriel* “…She’s a fish.”

July 27, 2026 at 11:02 am #212936@rae beautiful drawings! lol baron is so real for that
also Lillian sounds super cool! Species and culture breakdowns are fun, I’m totally up for reading about her kind!
Gerald handled that. You don’t question Gerald. (if you know you know)
July 28, 2026 at 1:51 am #213013Yeah, at this point, Baron can’t use chairs properly XD.
Wait. Wasn’t there a girl named Isabella in Gabriel’s story? I thought they were a thing for some reason. She seemed to really like him.
Yes. She had a crush on him. Did he notice? No.
This is why I call him oblivious.
I wouldn’t have expected a merfolk at all so you surprised me
Honestly, me neither. She was supposed to be normal…
But you know how it goes. I had an idea for part of Gabriel’s story where I kinda mess him up (Lucy’s reaction to such an episode would be interesting, as she would completely break or try to keep him together. I can see it going either way personally.) It snowballed into a prolonged stay at a seaside village for reasons. I already had an idea similar to Lillian before, but I decidedly didn’t like that character as much. Either way, she still ended up in this village inside my head, and slowly morphed into Lillian whom I obviously like much better.
Don’t even ask where the merfolk thing came from. I was in Driver’s ed and all my brain can remember was decided that was the way to go and sketching the design, while talking possible merfolk anatomy with my brother because we’re weird like that.
Lucy: *Looks at Lillian with suspicion* *Looks at Gabriel* “…She’s a fish.”
LOLLLLL
Gabriel: *sighs*
He genuinely would not know what to say to that XD
I love how everyone at least mentioned Baron XD
Also, happy birthday to me I guess.

July 28, 2026 at 8:03 am #213014Oh that one’s really cool!
I can never do myself. I can’t get my brain to ignore the oddity of drawing myself. XD I can’t believe how good you are though!
And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who couldn't hear the music
July 28, 2026 at 8:54 am #213017Happy birthday!! Congrats on living this long!
(Perhaps that is a weird thing to congratulate someone for. No matter.)
This is why I call him oblivious.
Ah. That explains it.
(Lucy’s reaction to such an episode would be interesting, as she would completely break or try to keep him together. I can see it going either way personally.)
I’m not sure what that means but it would probably be interesting.
Either way, she still ended up in this village inside my head, and slowly morphed into Lillian whom I obviously like much better.
Having merfolk character is a fun idea. I can’t remember if I’ve ever had one before. So she might know places beyond the island? Gabriel would surely ask her about that, even if she doesn’t know about them.
Gabriel: *sighs*
Lucy: “She’s a fish. You’re not a fish. You can only date her with my blessing. And I… I’m not convinced.”
(She would judge his love life. Even though she is no expert and is just as oblivious as Gabriel when Anthony likes her.)

LOLLLLL
my characters would probably not even find it weird, I mean Huntress is a mostly-humanoid and Sniper’s half-crocodile. Soldier is a bird-like creature and his wife is a bear-like one–and they have two cute-but-probably-mutant children, but it might not be wise to tell Gabriel that lollll
Gerald handled that. You don’t question Gerald. (if you know you know)
July 28, 2026 at 2:53 pm #213031July 29, 2026 at 7:19 am #213056(Perhaps that is a weird thing to congratulate someone for. No matter.)
It makes sense, I don’t mind it! Just don’t say that to someone who’s scared of aging XD.
Thank you!
So she might know places beyond the island? Gabriel would surely ask her about that, even if she doesn’t know about them.
Oh yes, she knows quite a bit about things that blow Gabriel’s mind. That’s probably why it seems like such a Gabriel thing for him to love the one non-human woman on his island XD. He dreams about beyond his home, he has a burning desire to know if the things the First Protector talked about were true or legend. Not to mention he’s been abused by the people of his own home that he’s more willing to trust a complete stranger not from the island than a villager from it.
Especially since how he met her was through his island’s harshness.
Poor Lillian gets questioned regularly XD.
Lucy: “She’s a fish. You’re not a fish. You can only date her with my blessing. And I… I’m not convinced.”
(She would judge his love life. Even though she is no expert and is just as oblivious as Gabriel when Anthony likes her.)
Gabriel: “She’s a woman from the sea, not a fish.” *Chuckles, oddly happy.* “I’m sure you’ll be convinced eventually.”
(I expect nothing less from her XD.)
Yes, I can imagine they wouldn’t bat an eye XD. I’m sure one of Soldier’s kids could bring home a world-destroying ancient being as their girlfriend/boyfriend and neither he nor his wife would care about anything except if they could arm wrestle, liked honey, and were at least somewhat patriotic XD.
Meanwhile, in some of the countries in my world, taking home even just an elf can illicit reactions. If Baron started dating an elf woman, in his area, she’d be viewed with suspicion and probably avoided.
If Nahim started dating an elf girl, he’d get applauded actually. Especially by Lord Adorian who would honestly just be happy he was dating XD.
Speaking of Lord Adorian…He is such an adorable menace. He’s started becoming one of my favorites XD.

July 29, 2026 at 9:11 am #213059Not to mention he’s been abused by the people of his own home that he’s more willing to trust a complete stranger not from the island than a villager from it.
Yeah that makes sense.
Why can’t Gabriel leave the island? Are there crazy storms that make it impossible to sail away? Or is it the demon monsters that get in the way?
It’s a fun coincidence that both our WIP settings are isolated places with no way to contact other places.
Gabriel: “She’s a woman from the sea, not a fish.” *Chuckles, oddly happy.* “I’m sure you’ll be convinced eventually.”
Lucy: “Sometimes I ask the worker boys why they like their dates. They always say ‘because she’s sweet’ or ‘because she’s smokin’. Is Lillian sweet and smokin’?”
