- Oh wow! I actually love hurricanes and would much rather listen to one than do anything else 😂 perhaps it’s because I’m from Seattle and still love the rain lol. Hope it’s not a really bad one XD

I love your WIP idea! Hope is a thing long-missing in the dystopian genre, and I’m glad you’re introducing it! Your characters sound interesting!
My reader brain is intrigued…This hurricane I’m hearing about… is it the one that reached as far North as Nova Scotia?

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe we are talking about Hurricane Ian, the one that mostly hit Florida.
Oh, ok. The one that hit Nova Scotia began with an H, I think. (Not that I would know much about hurricanes, being a north-west girl) We get wind and rain on the Island, but no hurricanes.

I only know that a hurricane hit Nova Scotia because a friend’s mom was there, otherwise I am usually completely oblivious to the weather in the east.
You would think, living on the Ring of Fire, that we would have natural disasters, but there hasn’t even been an earthquake in years. There’s been flooding, forest fires, rain… (the rain is understandable though, since the Island has a rainforest climate)
Whenever I think of last year’s flooding and fires, I always think of when the White Witch said “… and all of Narnia will be destroyed by fire and water.” My brain.
