Aggg! Yes, Retribution will break your heart, but that one is my favorite. Because…well, I’m sure you know why. TOO SWEET!!!!!
I read your 4th of July Hornblower fan-fic on your blog—you capture their personalities so well!! And that last line was perfect—“And now my other present for you—none of this is your fault.”…[Read more]

@Writefury I know, I was so sad to miss Archie in that one. 🙁
And I feel I should mention that Mutiny (or is it Retribution?) also has some very suggestive moments between two minor characters. Classic scenario of pretty woman gets captured, decides to seduce her captor to get what she wants. It was very minor and very easily skipped, but be on…[Read more]

@Sarah-H hmm… it depends. I’ve seen them too, and love them, and as far as violence goes if your brother’s seen Master and Commander he can see HH, but I’m seventeen and there are parts my parents skip when they watch it with me for other reasons. We actually skip one whole episode— The Duchess… something or other, and fragments of the rest.…[Read more]

@writefury – I was wondering if my little brother would enjoy the Horatio Hornblower movie, since he loves Master and Commander, Henty and anything else to do with England and the sea. Is it a movie you would recommend for a 14-year-old? Thanks. 🙂

@Daeus Sorry I didn’t respond until now. I was at a drama workshop all day. 🙂
I suggested Sign of Four because it was the only Sherlock Holmes novel haven’t read yet. However, if the people who haven’t read Sherlock Holmes think reading Sign of Four would be confusing as it isn’t the first novel in the series, then let’s read A Study in…[Read more]

Thanks, @hannah-c ! Good luck to you too.
So far, I’ve written 1,544 words. Writing has been kinda slow since I still need to finish organizing my notes and read over my prewriting before I can really go forward with it, but I should have that finished within the next couple of days.
How are things going with the rest of you and your…[Read more]

COBALT!!! Without a doubt, most certainly and beyond comparison, Cobalt. It seems like he isn’t technically the main character, but at the same time he’s the life of the story. I don’t think I’ve come across a character like Cobalt before. @writefury How did you come up with him?

@writefury The Tangible might work.
And I like the idea of Silence too, @kate-flournoy. Or Rigid.
