@Daeus wellll… I have an ENFJ anti-hero but he’s not written yet, so… XD
*ahem*
Yes. Let me think.
Hmmmm… *scratches head* You guys aren’t natural villain material.:P The only one I can think of straight off the top of my head is Mr. Waternoose, from Monsters Inc, and then it’s close between ENFJ and ENTJ.
Also… hm. *dredges through the…[Read more] -

@Dragon-Snapper it doesn’t really matter when you have beta-readers actually. I think it is pretty standard procedure to wait until you’re ‘done’, but in my case the story was so ridiculously long I’ve been sending it out in sections to the first round, hammering the second draft into shape as I go. Once I finish up with that I’ll run through it…[Read more]

@Dragon-Snapper welllll… generally I’d say if you’re connecting with one character better than the other and giving them more screen time etc., switch MCs because you’ve probably got them mixed up, but it looks like you already tried that.
So… the problem may not be your attachment to SACK, but your lack of attachment to the quiet one.…[Read more] -
Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Short Story Idea (May turn into Novella) in the forum Short Story Critiques 9 years ago
@Cloudy I love her as a villain! 😀 I can think of several ways I would go about making this a short story or novella, but that would be me writing it, which isn’t quite fair. 😉
I would just say play around with the character motivations and relationships and go from there. Go for it. Never know until you try. 🙂 -

@Cloudy I really like the intent/picture of the poem. The only thing I would suggest is either make it more obviously a rhyming poem or more obviously free verse, because I was a little confused by the alternating patterns.
Otherwise, I really like it. 🙂 -

@Aratrea my future course? Since I’ve already gone through all my next ten ideas and mapped out their themes in excruciating detail, I suppose you mean more futurely than that… um… continue? XD Pick other stories to pieces and keep learning and applying as I do, hopefully.
Seriously. There are no words for how amazing this was. I am…[Read more]

@GracieGirl *squeals* Did you read it!!!??? Wasn’t it awesome? The thing about G. K. Chesterton’s stuff is that you read it, and by the time you get to the end it’s never about what you thought it was going to be about, but somehow manages to be even more awesome. 😀
Incidentally I also read The Man Who Was Thursday and loved it as well. It was…[Read more]

Because when does Kate not come up with a name that doesn’t mean something?
@Hope *cough* That would be ‘When does Kate ever come up with a name that doesn’t mean something?’
Otherwise… *cough* carry on. XD -

My favorite line(s), though there were SO MANY GREAT ONES:
Kate stopped outside of the large doors to the war room. Why was it that there was always some sort of hidden force that held people’s hands back from knocking? Her fist was stuck midair, and she thought back to every book she had read before. Great. Now she was living a cliché.

@Dragon-Snapper I have literally been laughing so hard I can barely read this. HILARIOUS DOES NOT DO IT JUSTICE. Owwwww… *wipes eyes* I love this too much. Excellent job with the characterization, though you made me out much braver than I’ll ever be. *splits face grinning**wipes eyes again*
Oh man… this is perfect. -

@GracieGirl hey, that’s really good. I love it, and me being a calligrapher myself I mean that.
And yes… your desk is beautifully clean.
