Well, to be honest, stories kinda come to me. I can’t really force myself to come up with ideas, but I do enjoy finding prompts (on Reedsy: https://blog.reedsy.com/creative-writing-prompts/). I also find great ideas when I’m reading; for example, I was reading The Chosen by Taran Matharu and I thought about traveling between worl…[Read more]

That totally makes sense! I too like more complex characters over simple ones.

One thing that I suggest is a personality change/evolution in your cast of characters: the villain might change for better or descend into a downward spiral. The secondary characters might end up sacrificing themselves for their friends, or maybe they betray them. The MC might end up getting what they’ve been trying to get th…[Read more]

@joy-caroline It’d take too long for me to recount 13 Ways so I’ll just give a quick glossary over some short stories… I guess most of my ideas stem from like images I see in my brain or something that I’m reading at the moment. For example, I was reading a manga and about halfway I thought, What if I did something like this too, except not…[Read more]

Sorry, but I got nothing, to be honest I’m probably the type of person kingdom pen was created for.
The only reason I’m here is because @devastate-lasting tagged me, and I gotta stay on top of the whole ‘staying relevant’ thing y’know?
So yeah, I’m in the same boat as you. I shall watch the upcoming posts on this topic with…[Read more]

@writerlexi1216 As a fellow pantser, I am probably not qualified to answer this question. Most of the time I can kind of guess where the climax is by seeing where the falling action starts. But personally I feel like my climaxes are a bit on the bland side.
I think that what I can tell you is go for it, and edit later. After you write it you can…[Read more]

*gasps* how did you find the Secret Formula to becoming popular of the Kingdom Pen forum???
I thought for sure hiding under the floor boards would keep it safe… Horatio didn’t leak it out to the public again did he?
When he gets back from his hot-air balloon trip, I’m definitely going to have to have a word with him.

I’m happy I’m not the only broken record on here. You just like what you like you know? XD
I don’t think I’ve heard of the Casson Family series before, but from the little you said about it, it sounds really interesting. Do you have a favorite book and character from the series?
I’ve yet to read Six of…[Read more]

Ah yes. Character who have the same hair color as you. A topic, I fear, is frankly not discussed enough!
Although I have never been a blonde hair user as yourself, (I’m a brunette you see), I understand your struggle to relate to characters whose hair color doesn’t match yours.
Like when I read about a blonde…[Read more]

Hey JC! How are you? If you’re still up for it (and still have the free trial, of course), would you like to design a couple of covers for me? (All your other covers are AH-MAZ-ING!!!) If you have the time, of course. <33

@devastate-lasting, @relia, @faith-q
That’s great advice, thanks y’all! <3 I was thinking that maybe what happens in Splendor (massive tsunamis that wipe out half of earth) leaves the characters in Solace living in a whole new economy/government system where people’s normal jobs are to scavenge things from underwater. And I love the idea of a…[Read more]
