My friend says the same thing! I like the movie better because while the story is intact, it goes the extra mile with the stop-motion. It’s so gorgeous. <3 One of the most aesthetically pleasing movies I’ve ever watched.
which movie is this?!

Mateo
The figure stopped walking, but never stopped playing his guitar in its minor key. He lifted his head slightly to meet the gaze of the fellow who was asking him questions. The figure’s face wasn’t even a face, but it was a skull, with two blue eyes in the center, looking dead into the interrogator’s eyes. He began to speak in…[Read more]

I don’t think you are going overboard with different aspects of Sara’s character. The different aspects of her character aren’t distracting from each other. Her synesthesia gives he a unique perspective on the world. Her depression is a flaw she is seeking to overcome. Her love of facts interests her, and as my editor says,…[Read more]

@whalekeeper I’ve never counted HTTYD, cause the books and movies are completely different and only really share their titles and character names.

lol.
I was told the writing style wasn’t great either.
Have you read the original Rapunzel? Like, the 100 page narrative? Old, old, old.

@the_lost-journal @keilah-h  @theducktator
Never read the HTYD books because someone told me not to and just stick with the movies.
Never read Princess Bride but I really want to!
There are two movies that were better than the book that I can think of off the top of my head……. but I forgot the second. XD
The bi…[Read more]

Wait… you posted in the spring channel here, I think. Are you joining KDWC?
Lolol! Yeah, senior year is kind of crazy.
Normally everyone’s trying to kill each other with jokes.
🤣🤪
Oh wow. I’ve never really thought about that before, but it must be really weird and interesting. What’s the coolest thing you’ve learned so far?
Yea…[Read more]

First off, @whalekeeper had an amazing suggestion for Cole and Sara! Love that!
Second, I like the synesthesia. It’s interesting and I don’t really know much about it so I feel like i’m uncovering something new as I read. I may be the odd number on this, but I personally enjoy it.
how about you, @linus-smallprint ?

You’re good! XD
Oh, this is unrelated, but by the way, how is Challenge 4 going? What are you planning to do for your senior thesis? (I saw you were sprinting to work on it.)
I think I understand what you were trying to say, and I love that idea! A scene is starting to form in my head already 😅 The only problem is, I’ll have to…[Read more]

I think for me, the most obvious way I can think of that one of my hobbies has bled into my writing life is my Boardgaming hobby. In my main WIP the political mastermind character is also a really big tabletop gamer and uses that as a metaphor for his political machinations.

Awesome!! Sorry I stopped tagging you, I didn’t know if you were still reading.
Thank you so much for the feedback! Making the world relatable was one of my big focuses, because I didn’t want it to just be this unrealistic cliche dystopian. I wanted the reader to be able to see why the government was this way, and for the gra…[Read more]

Honestly, their economic system makes no sense. They just have infinite money???

@whalekeeper honestly I loved the worldbuilding, there was just one problem with it:
the fact that elves completely discount all human science. It doesn’t really make sense to me. As a person who’s very invested in science, I just can’t see how literally everything we come up with–every theory, every calculation–could be wrong. Don’t get me…[Read more]

Yes! It’s back!
My love of dance has influenced my attitude toward critique a lot. It’s taught me to want corrections. One thing my favorite ballet teacher always says is that listening to your corrections is the best way to improve, and I’ve heard variations of this from the other teachers as well. The aforementioned favorite…[Read more]

@whalekeeper lol it was my mom that made it, I just decorated it
@theducktator 18. It’s crazy. My dad had me sign some healthcare paperwork to confirm I’m staying under their plan and not splitting off to pay for my own, and my brother was like “Welp, now that you’re 18 you’re gonna have to start doing paperwork.”

The water Sprites dance is like what you’d get if you mixed ballet and Irish folk/cog dancing, with the added effects of water swirls following their every command. They move the water, and the water moves them.

Great topic!
I don’t know, I’m sure they affect my writing a lot more than I realize. The one that has the most is obviously reading
but I don’t know if that counts. XDA lot of my projects for a while had something to do with space and flying starships, because I read Skyward by Brandon Sanderson and loved it. I guess that’s an…[Read more]
