Hm. Well, I wasn’t going by category. I was going by your eyes. *raises eyebrows*

Somewhere between stars and black-holes, actually. It’s the hybrids that are tricky. 😉

@Daeus feel, definitely. All irises are round, I’m pretty sure. 😛

@Daeus that. is. too. cute.
Also (because why use words when I can have a handy chart that explains it better than I do) here’s something fun about the eye thing:

There is greater variance within segments once you learn what you’re looking for, but this is the basics.

@Daeus ENFP. That description is ENFP to the core. *grins* And—‘The perfect knack for complimenting women’— that is absolutely hilarious.
One way to tell the difference (weird, but you already know I am) is to look at the eyes. ENFPs have very bright, living, curious, sparkling eyes. ENFJs are softer; more thoughtful and subdued. The…[Read more]

Greetings, Mellon!
I love your topic title. 😉
I also entered the Call to Pens— congratulations on second place. 😀
And believe it or not, you are the first elf. I’m one of the dragons @Daeus warned about, but I’m really not that scary. Too small. 😉 Welcome to the Realm of the KeePers, @Ethryndal. -

@Daeus ewwww, yes. The priests of the Ra’zac, I forgot about those. I don’t think there are any scenes as nasty as that one, though there are a few (in Brisingr, if my memory serves me?) where the priests play a pretty major part. Nothing terribly gross like that first scene; just… those guys are nasty wherever they turn up.

@Aratrea if it isn’t too late, do all three of you know your MBTI type, and if so, what is it?

The Snalgli? *shudders* Ugh. I’d tried to forget those, @Sierra-R. Thanks a lot. 😛
Great points about Paolini’s weak worldview. I agree. Which is really sad, because a strong theme could really have made that series several LAYERS of more awesomeness. I basically had to look to the supporting characters for applicable life-lessons, and even…[Read more]

@Corissa-Maiden-of-Praise congratulations! Welcome to the crazy world of psychological genius! 😀
@Dragon-Snapper I agree with @Emma-Flournoy. One hundred percent. 😉 Also, one of the reasons I love fantasy as a writer is because it takes us so completely out of our reality that the truth of reality can be portrayed through it and be as fresh and…[Read more] -

Heyyyyy, look who’s here guys!! @Writefury I daresay no one’s forgotten you who was on here before, though there are a few newbies. 😉 So great to have you here again.
Hi Wolfgang. Don’t let anything she does to you get you down. It’ll be fine in the end, I’m sure.
At least… I think I’m sure. 😛 -

Murtagh was actually my favorite character
Well good. You’re not totally without hope then. 😉
Roran does get better— now that you reminded me of how muddy his beginning as a hero was, I remember disliking him intensely as well. His journey was interesting; not a typical one. Finish the series, then tell me what you thought.
And I don’t…[Read more]

@Mark-Kamibaya Murtagh. You’re probably talking about Murtagh. Excellent choice. 😉
And as for diagnosing your problem, it’s probably just a question of what kind of reader you are. There are two types of readers (and incidentally two types of writers). Those who care most about the characters and relationships and subtext, and those who care…[Read more]

@Daeus wow, really. I thought you would like Roran for sure. Oromis… I hate Oromis. 😛 I guess it’s just a matter of taste.
Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s sad too, because he was homeschooled. 🙁
Come to think of it, none of the elves really did much for me. They just kept getting weirder and weirder… I do like Orik though. 😀
