I’ve decided they could, feasibly, do it. But whether or not they had enough money…then again, a lack of money never stopped royals, did it?

Yes. It’s an extremely beautiful palace and I’m trying to decide whether colonists could build something similar in 150 years. I haven’t decided yet.

Hello! I’m currently staring dully at pictures of Linderhof Palace and trying to find out how long it took them to build it.

@catwing @valtmy Unfortunately the internet is acting up, and I’m having trouble loading pages, so I’m going to take a break for a bit. I may be back later, if the internet starts working right again.
@dekreel Nononono!! Why did the internet have to stop working right as you came along?? 🙁 Hope you’re still here when I get back (if I get bac…[Read more]

@catwing @rochellaine @valtmy @anyone-else-who-may-be-present
I’ll write a bit! I’m not up for a word war, though. 😛 (And no, I’m not doing NaNo.)

@valtmy Is it going any better after the word war?
What is a Hyunjoo? (I’m being lazy and not looking it up like I did with @seekjustice‘s “brumby” a few days ago.)
😛

@valtmy I got 383 words.
My last sentence:
A few words were spoken in hushed voices between themselves, but no one spoke to her.

@valtmy I don’t always do so, but I had a particular reason for using the meanings of names in this book, especially since name meanings were more specifically used in that time period than they are now.
I think we may have. It might have been Chara, though. I think we concluded that (whichever one of my characters it was) my character would…[Read more]

@valtmy Yes, I think I’m keeping her name as Bathshua. I’m expecting people to think it’s weird, but I’m also expecting them to pretty much accept it because it’s set in a time period they’re already going to think is pretty different, so a weird name won’t be so strange. And I have a specific reason I need her to be named B…[Read more]

@valtmy Hello, I’m here! I’ve actually been writing a poem, but didn’t see you were here until now that I’ve finished.
Guess I’ll get on to some serious work now, writing Daughter of Judas. 😉
How are you doing? Is your character (sorry, I can’t spell her name 😉 ) still worried about how to repay that woman for her sacrifice?

I thought there was. The writing in ROF wasn’t bad but I thought it was rather lackluster compared to QOD. It wasn’t as funny and wasn’t really distinctive. Its an older work isn’t it? I’d say your voice has probably just improved.
I’m sure its been established that Courageous needs whipping into shape himself and is probably not capable…[Read more]

Well, I don’t think Juqing would like Courageous and he certainly wouldn’t like Courageous court. Whether Courageous would like Juqing or not, I’m not sure.
And yes, I think Juqing would definitely bully Courageous, and Courageous would probably run away to Antarctica.

I thought we came to the conclusion that he would be bullied horribly. But, the poor boy is bullied anyhow, so its just a matter of whether it would be better or worse.

There’s exceptions to every rule. But the time jumps are less noticeable in the book than the movie/musical because there’s so much extra stuff in there.
Honestly, I think its one of those tools that can be used very well and effectively, but often isn’t.
Most certainly 🙂

Huh, they’re all out of whack. That’s really weird.
Yeah, I think there would be people who wouldn’t enjoy your style, but once I got into it I really enjoyed it.
I have seen people do those time jumps in published books, personally I’ve never really liked it, but that could just be me. Still, I think you can make it work.
