So … how does this work? Do we just insert things from our characters’ POVs from our own stories? Sorry, I haven’t been on KP in a while, so I’m late to the party.

That’s my wish to create.Hey! I love Harry Potter too! Nice to meet you! Around here, I’m known as Tráhia the Minstrel. I write clean YA Fantasy and am currently writing a no-magic medieval-esque story about two princes from different families who are enemies.
Have you ever read Brandon Sanderson’s books? I’m just curious.
Or Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger? Cause those books … I just can’t wait for the next one to come out in November!
Glad to meet you!

That’s my wish to create.May 31, 2022 at 7:02 pm in reply to: You have the ability to read a book for the first time again… #111354I’d either choose The Mysterious Benedict Society (cause both its major plot twists were spoiled for me before I read it😢) or the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers. Because. The. End. Of. The. Second. Book. Was. So. GOOD.
Honestly, reading that for the first time was epic.
It’s funny. The books I go into with low expectations always end up being my favourites … has anyone else experienced this?

That’s my wish to create.Things unchristian directors could do with my book … oh help.
They’d probably try to make out this beautiful, really close, boy-boy brother-like friendship I have into something else … if you know what I mean. And they’d probably cause conflict between that and another friendship/frenemyship one of the boys has with another main boy character. Which would be wrong on all levels.
And they’d definitely try to make my girl characters a bigger part of the story … which would kinda ruin multiple parts of it. I have girl characters, but my boys are my mains.
They’d cast my noble bodyguard with an American accent. That’s just wrong. He has a regal British accent, and there is no dispute about this. I have nothing against American accents, btw😃, I just know that this particular character has a much more British-like accent.😅
They’d make a character I have been desperately trying to not make a feminist into a feminist.
They’d make bad things happen in this really pure romance I have between two characters.
They would make one of my main protagonists have a bad relationship with his father when he actually doesn’t have a bad relationship with his father at all.
They’d put so much swearing and violence into it that it wasn’t for the age range I intended if for anymore. 10-14.
That’s all I can think of for now … I do know I would love to see my story as an anime someday, but I think I’d have to be the one directing it or else …😬. Or at the very least I’d need to work with a group of Christians who understood my vision for the story.

That’s my wish to create.Thank you so much for your advice! I found it really encouraging.
Thank you! I am so sorry I haven’t posted anything for like, 6 weeks … I’ve been in a real slump and kinda discouraged with everything about websites and my writing in general. It’s a but of hard spell for me … I’m at one of those places where I’m wondering if it’s worth it and if anyone’s actually enjoying what I do.
Thank you! That means a lot, as I know you’re an experienced blogger and also have your debut novel coming out this year!
That’s all good! Blogging is hard … I’m definitely struggling at the moment.
Thank you so much for your answers! I’ll have to look into those websites!
Awesome!
@everyone
Sorry I’ve kinda been absent on here for like 3 months. I recently got a public Insta account, where you can find me @hadassahwaugh_authorartist. And I was getting a lot more engagement in Insta than on my blog, so I kinda let the blog go, which I feel super bad about …
I just find blogging so hard. It takes me a whole day to write a post and get it up, and I get frustrated with myself for not being able to do it faster. And I only have 13 subscribers so I feel like I’m doing something wrong …
A quick question. If you wanted my blog to have a new sign-up incentive, what would it be?
Thanks so much for commenting, everyone! I’m sorry I haven’t replied sooner😅

That’s my wish to create.Um … yeah, that would probably be quite a lot of mental trauma. Enough to give him a pretty severe fear of fire, dogs, and soldiers. Children are very impressionable, and having a memory of those things in a tragedy like that would give him a negative association with all of the above.
I speak from half-experience — I don’t want to say what it was, but something happened to one my family members when they were young that gave them a severe PTSD about certain things. And even though they’re older now, they still have that negative association.
As for feeling guilty about your protagonist’s backstory, I also feel mildly guilty about mine — my female character’s sister was sold into slavery basically, and mistreated by a man who forced her into matrimony. She then died in childbirth. Which has given my female character a severe fear of getting married and of people not loving her for who she is. I’m trying to find a way to have this in my story in a sensitive manner that won’t freak out children or traumatise them — because my book is meant to be for 10 up.

That’s my wish to create.I’ve seen the cover of it, and it looks really intriguing! It’s on my to buy and read list😊.
If you like that kind of romantic friends lovers with awkward shy cute boy and oblivious girl thing, you’d probably like Avatar: The Last Airbender. Have you seen it? It’s a really amazing story and kids show — the only downside being all the fantasy-Buddhist stuff. But I say take that with a grain of salt, and just know it’s not real, and you’ll be fine!
That’s how I watched it when I was 11. Awesome show, amazing characters, ignore all the nonsense that’s not real, and I rate it as one of the best kids shows — if not THE BEST kids show I’ve ever seen.
It’s ending is just sooo satisfying. It’s in my top two most satisfying endings I’ve ever watched/read.
Yup! Guys in books are great. Especially when they’re best friends/brothers and are teasing each other.
My fave every time.
