I’m going to kind of repeat what other people have said. Get to know your characters better. Often when I’m stuck and I don’t know what characters would do but have an idea of where I want/need them to go, I will quickly make up a list showing the thoughts in each character’s heads like this:
Brother

I would consider getting out a blank doc or piece of paper and writing what you know about the story on it. Sometimes it’s definitely hard to know where to go after scenes, and knowing the main goal of your story and what’s going to happen will help. I used to just write whatever I felt like, but for TCOH I’ve actually figured out a…[Read more]

*Thinks hard* Well for me, while watching movies or reading, each scene has a character decision in it, or at least it reveals something new about a character. In this way, it’s like each scene has a mini plot point that sets up the new status quo for the next scene.
For example: Scene 1: Joe debates between two scenarios, and decides…[Read more]

Hmm, It’s hard to know when I don’t know the story, but I would say that right now all you need to focus on is getting draft 1 fully on paper. From there you can go back and make changes/rewrites/connect things/etc.
That’s my tip. Having the whole story there helps you see the big picture, and it’s much easier to work off of the…[Read more]

@ellette-giselle @koshka @whalekeeper @theshadow
And y’all, you’re able to like, give me critiques for these. I just meant I didn’t need super precise, line-by-line edits since I’m going to rewrite this stuff eventually. So if you have input, please share it.

Chapters 3 and 4 are out! I think I’m going to post these on a separate doc for now, and we’ll see how it goes. As of now, I’m also planning to post two chapters every week, maybe on Tuesdays. That way I’m not glued to my screen all the time waiting to hear y’all’s feedback, and it gives me some time to catch up on my…[Read more]

@the_lost-journal @theshadow wow that was a good chapter!!
I realize I haven’t been voting, but I’m very indecisive on that kinda thing…….and honestly, if you just waited for me to reach a decision it’ll slow down everything. So, uh…..I don’t know if I’ll be voting this time. But I will keep reading! And if there’s a particularly strong…[Read more]

G, P, and Z. My favorite characters would be Robert and Rachel. Least favorite is probably Alyona. I don’t really dislike any of them though. Some of them are kind of jerks, but they’re funny.

Do you have thoughts on the blurb? Ellette mentioned she would prefer for it to share less about the overall plot.

Here is a chart I was given at one of our C&C events going over some of the views. I think it gets Amillennialism a little wrong. (It seems to be made by Premillennials). I know I said Post earlier, but I think my pastor is actually a Pre. You might need to open this image in a new tab to read everything on it. One thing not mentioned…[Read more] -

Tenz
As Emeline spoke, Tenz shrunk back against the wall. The vapor around him had all but disappeared besides the tendrils that carried Reid. “I want Omi,” His quiet, childish voice, barely to be heard, was tinged with loneliness and sorrow.
