@trahia-the-minstrel (and everyone else) Those look so cool!
Sadly, I haven’t done cover art for Into The Forbidden Cavern yet…. But at some point I will! Maybe once I start actually writing it.

@elishavet-pidyon I like it. I just really find it hilarious when characters act/talk like that…..

Hello, and welcome to KP! (Sorry for the belatedness of this welcome.) I am Koshka, or at least that’s what I’m called around here. I have two major WIPs at this point. One is a non-magical medieval-fantasy trilogy which has gained my central focus. I’m hoping to be able to aventually publish it. The other is a historical fiction…[Read more]

Blenders are wonderful, if you find a type you like. They aren’t necessary, like any other tool.
That’s the best reason to draw! If you do it enough you’ll develop a lot of skill in whatever way you like. IÂ didn’t have much skill at all, untill about 13-14.

No, I don’t use a blender most of the time, although I probably should. I’m not really an expert artist. I just draw for fun sometimes.

Ah, ok. I love talking about my books too much (my dear twin ends up having to listen to my ramblings most of the time), so I try to be careful with what I start, if that makes any sense.
To be honest, I don’t know much about sci-fi. The most I’ve actually read in that genre was Thorny Twins, and that was a long time ago, when I…[Read more]

It is interesting though. Everyone’s imagination is influenced by real life, so each view is unique. Or at least, that sounds right to me… Oh well.

Exactly. Or go through and explain all the types and shadows. Which is hard to do without spoiling anything. *Sigh*
Well, the book said it was a hawk, but it never said what type. Later, when it described him is used ‘reddish’. So this is the type I saw. =)

Yeah, that’s very true. The way to get people to read it without turning them off is just conveniently “forgetting” about the ancient stones and tell them about the rest.
I guess we all have different visualizations of Artham! I actually like the grey wings better than white, I guess I just didn’t read it close enough.

Ah yes, most people look at one a little strange if we start talking about stones which change people into animals, especially if one emphasizes the fact it’s by a Christian. XD
That’s interesting. I always saw Artham’s wings reddish, like a red hawk.

Wow! You spent a lot of time drawing those. Good job! The second one in particular is well done. The human eye tends to like threes.
I would recommend having your characters in the second cover that are wearing armor to also wear helmets (or at least holding helmets). The helmet isn’t used very often in movies or pictures…[Read more]

I’m glad you like them! I definitely have some more work to do, but it’s a start.

Thanks!
The colors in the second seem to fit with the word Ice, but so does the first in a darker way. The first might have better placement for English speakers. (Our eyes tend to start at the top left corner of a page). What is the general theme of your book, if it doesn’t spoil anything?
Good, that’s what…[Read more]

Wow, both of those are so good! I love the style! I already want to read your book just by looking at the cover. I like the expressions on the faces of the characters. It makes it look way more interesting. The titles are great too. That’s all the feedback I have. I think just add some color to those pictures, and they’re…[Read more]

Here is a collage I made for HOGHOS (wow, that acronym is awful). It isn’t at all like my cover idea, but it has a similar feel.

Wow, that’s cool, @keilah-h! I like the vibrant colors. The illustration in the book is only black and white, so it’s nice to see it in color. I actually always thought his feathers were white or something, I didn’t realize they were grey like that.

That makes sense. I think it will too, once everything’s filled out.
That would be a fun workshop! I know it takes a lot of work to get all that right in any type if art. But it’s so rewarding…
I’ll have to put it on here as soon as it’s done. Thank you for sharing yours!

Good layout. I would move the Prince of Walfklau scroll up to the top of the page (if that could be done without blocking any of the cover details. Then again, I don’t know.) Otherwise I think those look great! The sense of distance and plains is right as far as I can tell. I like the depth, with your angles lining up. Um,…[Read more]
