Okay. I know there were some concerns about the security of Google. So, I decided to try out Proton Drive instead, which is more secure. So far, I don’t like the interface much. It’s slow and lacks some basic features. But let’s see how this goes. Here is a link to a folder that…[Read more]

Mateo
Mateo saw that his friend had sat down, and he sat in a place where many people were unfamiliar to him. So, Mateo did what he seemed to be the normal thing to do and that is to stand behind him, like a dog loyal to his master.

Marcel
“You’re welcome, Celarent.” Marcel winked, although his mouth stayed in a determined line. He pulled his hand back and continued onward.
They made it to class without any more fighting. The room was already full, and a little chaotic, so Marcel had to take a seat by nobody he knew.

He looks like an alien and if he was coming at me, no matter the size, I would kill it.

Mateo
Fine! Mateo thought to himself, It should be more, ‘Yes, sorry, Senior Mateo’ not ‘Fine’! I should blow him to pieces. *sigh* But that will upset Little Fellow, and I do not want that. He is fearless of the dead, which may be his downfall at some point but for now it has my respect. And at least the mocoso is…[Read more]

Sorry for commenting so abruptly, so late – I’m okay! XD I heard bad screams coming from my skylight window. There was some sobbing and yelling for help, and it died away before I could figure out where it was coming from. So we called the police.
I tend to hear weird things in the middle of the…[Read more]

I’m gonna be the parent whose kids can’t date until they graduate high school. At that point they’re 18 and free to roam the world anyway, but I think there’s something special about being able to focus the teenage years on building relationships with God, friends, and family, and being able to grow as a person and begin…[Read more]

If I remember correctly, John Adams fell down George’s chimney and landed in a boiling pot of oatmeal.
Oh my word, I was laughing out loud when I read this! And this:
but one of them had started a rebellion which had to be put down, and he was sentenced to have his hair dyed with glitter and wash all the palace dishes “except the kni…

Mateo
Mateo broke his gaze with Celarent to look at his little friend. He contemplated for a moment, then spoke, “Fine, but you,” he pointed at Celarent, “Better choose your words more carefully.”

Y’all are so so so helpful!!! I wish I could reply to each individual response, but that would take a while. 🤪
The theme I’m getting from most of the responses though is that MG needs more wholesomeness, or at least that was what you enjoyed the mos…[Read more]

“Hey, hey, hey!” Marcel separated the two with a guarding hand. “We will not kill anybody. And I will not allow unnecessary attacks. Do you both understand?”

Chapter 12 out now!
I was talking to my sister last night about the story, and we decided on a couple of things that would make us both more comfortable reading and writing in the story, which would also make things less awkward for the characters. However, I still will not rewrite…[Read more]

I would say keep any gender issues out of MG. I was reading MG at 7ish, and my parents never told me about any of that stuff until I was a teen. Finding out about it, even from a Biblical perspective, would have traumatized tiny me.
That’s a valid point! What I meant is illustrated anyway in a decent book. Have your characters behave…[Read more]

Yeah for real. My group of middle school girls ironically happens to be mostly homeschooled, but one of the other leaders has a group that is mostly public schoolers, and you can clearly see the difference. Quite often, I’ll come away from our small group time encouraged by the fact that my girls were sharing testimonies of things…[Read more]
