Ok, so this is a wonderful point of discussion to go to when it comes to God’s nature. What is reality itself, and what is existence. A Baptist I’ve debated has been studying Aquinas, and has given the following framework that I think you’ll agree with:
There can only exist beings that are contingent or necessary.
A contingent…[Read more]

I’ve been stalking this conversation, and I’ve found it fascinating. My dad says the reason the ancient Israelites weren’t taught about the Trinity is because of how rampant polytheism was. It had to be eradicated before they could understand Three in One and One in Three. By the time Jesus came, the Jews had a lot of proble…

Yeah, KP doesn’t do well with multiple links, sometimes it doesn’t do well with any at all. It’s kind of hit and miss in that way.
Ha ha. Yeah, this is a bigger issue. You might want to grab some coffee or something to drink for this one, it’s going to be long.
I like the confidence, but I don’t drink coffee. If you want long, w…[Read more]

Sorry guys; I dropped this when young adult life crept into play, and have since lost relevance and steam. I had some specific thoughts, since I wanted to clarify some things before moving forward. But I don’t even fully remember what my questions were… I may come back to this later – and reread our conversation – since I am *nods t…

Thank you for the suggestion of the trickster, but I kind of want to keep it as a curse if I go with the Sabtah origin story, trope or not. Why? Because of the irony. Sabtah was trying to escape curses and got cursed yet again. Perhaps some of what I was thinking is that Sabtah wanted to be separated from God, and while he could…

Hold on, let’s back up a bit. It’s great that you agree with most of what I have said, but I would like to know more about the Tritheist heresy you mentioned. Are you saying you do not believe The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit are not one God but three separate Gods? Another thing I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Lat…

Here’s my story. It’s going under major reevaluation right now though, so keep that in mind if you want to read it.

This story is not about overcoming addiction, it is about overcoming sin (you are not the first to mistake it as this). While others do get addicted to magic, loving the power it gives them and how it makes solving their problems easy, my protagonist will never be addicted to magic. Warning, if you want to read my book someday,…

The church I attend is non-denominational, but I would say it is in a group of churches coming out of Grace Community Church that feels very close to becoming their own denomination considering it has things like its own hymnal (Hymns of Grace) and Psalter (Psalms of Grace). I’m not sure what it would be called though. Gracits o…

He is on a quest for redemption, and fears being drawn back in. Towards the beginning, he tries to redeem himself by becoming a hero, but as the story goes on, he instead learns to trust in The Saviour to forgive him and to help him overcome temptations to magic. So it’s a story about redemption, forgiveness, sanctification, a…

Yep! And of course I will still stress the fact that this doesn’t mean that we can sit and do nothing, for faith without works is not faith at all, James 2. God has indeed foreordained us with sacred roles to serve in this life, though personally I believe that it is our choice to live up to that or not, Matthew 22:14, as I’m…[Read more]

That’s true, but holding each other accountable is a great method. Me and my sister could start trying to do that. We pester each other about writing all the time, but it may actually help to set it up as chapter submission to one another, or something like that.

Yeah, that’s what happened when I wrote my short story. There was a due date for a competition I was entering it for, so that accountability really forced me to Just Do It!
What’s frustrating is trying to have that same accountability on yourself. Even if you set dates, it doesn’t feel the same, so there’s gotta be good ways to convince yourself…[Read more]

Good to see you again! I haven’t been too active either, more just on and off. KP finally published my short story as well, so that’s cool. I’ll check out the Novella! That’s awesome that you’ve done that!
That’s something I should do honestly, I’ve been banging my head on the wall over writing whole books, that I haven’t considered starting with…[Read more]

Yeah, I found that writing is a lot easier when you have *no other choice.* Since I was expected to submit an outline, and expected to submit a chapter every week, I actually did do those things!

Maybe we could organize something similar for KP, where everyone submits a chapter a week. But then again, maybe that wouldn’t be enough. It would probably be pretty easy to tell everyone that you didn’t have enough time, and then get behind and completely forget about it.

Ok, here we go again.
Maybe, I do like nature as well though, so the country that this story takes place in has mountains to the west and praries to the east with forests in the middle. Trees are common in their cities. The capital, Pryde, has a river valley with paths that connect all the way through the…

So what you are saying is that if one carries out Christ-like behaviour, he or she will be saved? What if I forget to seek after Him at times, being distracted by something else? Am I doomed to go to hell if I fail to show Christ-like behaviour and if I fail to love others as much as I can?  You mentioned earlier that Christ s…

For inspiration, I did not want to go to medieval England, so I am digging into the 19th century for inspiration. They do not have electricity yet (they will soon after this trilogy), but they have cameras, locomotives, and plumbing. Style of clothing is a combination of clothing from this era and what is more typical in fantasy.…

Thank you for providing this answer. I do agree with a lot of what you said, such as how whether or not God chooses who he will save is a secondary issue and how going to a church, no matter what the denomination, does not determine whether or not someone is a Christian. However, I still would like some more clarification, if you do not mind. You…
