Ben Powell replied to the topic What genre do you write in? in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 8 months ago
@ashlyvye I like basically anything, but I usually write in either sci-fi or fantasy (or some sub genre of speculative fiction.)
If I write fantasy, magic may exist, but it’s not usually the focal point of the story and it doesn’t usually feel too much like magic. Like, in Narnia, magic appears often, but somehow it doesn’t feel like magic; it fe…[Read more]

@warrenluther04 Well done! Sorry I’m late. I think being late is in my DNA. 😉
Wow. We now have three ongoing Kapeefer Lit series…and they all overlap! It’s cool how parts of one story sneak their way into the the other stories.
Your story is now live on the Compendium!

@rochellaine Oh, good. Yes, Sam was the first one to use me as a droid in a story (I think.)

@dekreel The fact that you are able to come up with such interesting and different characters from a group of young writers on a forum is, really, quite remarkable. 😀
@rochellaine So, droids are real…right? *Hopes you don’t disbelief me*

@bekreations I am terribly, horribly, extremely late, but I thought I’d pop in and say hi.
So, yeah. Hi!
As a side note, you mentioned that you were slightly intimidated by everyone’s awesomeness. I still feel that way whenever I get on here. Any and all accounts of me being as awesome as the other KeePers are greatly exaggerated. 😉

You know you’re a writer when you’re rambling on about the theme of a movie you just watched and you mention a certain character…and then realize your family doesn’t even know who you’re talking about.

@rochellaine It’s probably a good thing you did. I’m always late to new topics anyways. 🙂
Wait, I just realized that you have 945 posts! And I distinctly remember commenting on your introduction topic not all that long ago. I feel like I’m on here all the time until I realize just how much everyone else is.

Ben Powell replied to the topic Book Titles! in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 8 months ago
@sleepwalkingmk I’ve never thought that much about it before, but now that I do I would have to say that I basically agree with everyone else:
- eye-catching but not flashy
- unique but not too weird
- Both short and long work for me.
- describes something about the book
- OR it could just be the name of the MC, like my novel, which I call Leukauf.

Welcome to the most fantastical place on the Internet, @filewriterbase13x !
Ah, another sci-fi writer! I guess I write a bit of everything, but sci-fi is one of my favorite genres. 😉
I was going to introduce you to the Compendium, but it appears you have already found it…
Well, I can’t think of any original questions, so I’ll just repe…[Read more]

@rochellaine If no one else wants it (and it seems that no one did), then, yes, I’ll use it. 😉 But I might not start until next week. This week is very busy.

@rochellaine Oops. That was actually what the “for sure” meant. I guess that was a bit unclear. 😀 So, Yes, I’d definitely let you read it!

@rochellaine Nah, I wouldn’t turn it into fantasy. 😀
For sure.

@rochellaine Sounds like a great idea! Yeah, the MC would have a dilemma on his hands, not knowing whether he was a hero or a villain. And then if he told everyone the truth…that could get very interesting.
I /might/ try this out. I actually just finished my current project yesterday, so I could do this next. I’ll see.

@rochellaine Once again, you are most welcome. 🙂 I’ll tag you back because you always seem to have the most unique and inspiring thoughts, which have caused me to think deeper about my writing.

Thank you! But please don’t think I was upset at Dekreel as she seems to imply. 🙂 There was no dispute between us that I can recall. Just a request and an explanation.
