@dekreel Uh… everything I was going to say was already said by someone else. *shrugs*
@seekjustice *gasp* Are you implying that there may be traitors to our noble king residing in this very forum??? We must find them immediately and give them our harshest punishment! (That being no ice cream for a month. 😉 )

@waterlily Wow! Even better than the last one. Your descriptions were spot on. Reading that was like watching the opening scene of a great movie. It was interesting and intriguing, yet real and not rushed. I loved the characters.
If you lengthened that, I would gladly pay to read it. Great job!

@perfectfifths Would you be referencing the cartoon Phineas and Ferb?
It’s been years since I watched it, but some variation of that line is probably in every episode. 🙂

@his-instrument That’s a cool verse! I don’t remember hearing it before. I play cajon as a hobby, but I don’t think that’ll be my profession.
Yeah, I think those kids were part of what Luke meant when he said he would not be the last Jedi. He was talking about Rey, but he knew there were others who would be “Jedi,” even if they’re not trained b…[Read more]

Ben Powell replied to the topic What Are the Cliches of Sci-Fi? in the forum Sci-Fi 6 years, 11 months ago
@jenwriter17 Ooh, good question! Probably at least 50% of my reading and writing is sci-fi, and I have to say, there aren’t as many cliches as, say, fantasy (at least that I notice), because the whole idea of sci-fi is to come up with some crazy/unusual/futuristic/dystopian situation and use that as a major part of the story.
There remains d…[Read more]

@his-instrument A story behind my username? Well, yes, but it’s not a very interesting one. I used to play a game on the Internet that had a character called a Super Monkey, so I used that for my username. I guess it just stuck. 🙂 By the way, I take it from your username that you’re a musician? Maybe?
Yes, I totally agree with you on the boy at…[Read more]

@dekreel Yup! Saw it the day it came out.
In my opinion, The Last Jedi was the best Star Wars yet! I was more excited for that movie than I’ve ever been for a movie before, and it still way exceeded my expectations. To me it seemed original and fresh, as well as unexpected. Also, Star Wars has to have a certain amount of weirdness, and this m…[Read more]

@waterlily Nice scene! My attention was caught by the second paragraph. If you wrote a whole book like this, I wouldn’t be able to stop reading! Good job with Rufus’s character. I can’t quite figure out if Miss Blessing is nice and joyful or prim and polite from that snippet, but I suppose that’s the purpose of writing more.

@dekreel The only Studio Ghibli movies I’ve seen are My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away, and I’m pretty sure it’s neither of those.
So, basically, I’m clueless. 🙂
