@jess I would love to read this! Your description has already tagged me (besides the fact that you tagged me in the first place). Now, when you ask for name help, are you referring to naming of the characters, settings or book title?

This sounds really neat, @Jess.
Question: do all five of the kids each have all five abilities? I didn’t think so, but the way you said it in this post made it sound that way.
Also, why are there only five kids? If the original testers have had kids, did they only have one each—and how many years has it been?
If there are only five, why would…[Read more] -

@sarah-h, It was a mock/practice audition for my musical theatre classes (which are unfortunately now over) *sinks down into a heap on the ground* *sobs heart out* But it was conducted exactly like a real audition, so it was pretty intense. (and nerve racking!) It was heaps of fun, though. I sang a Latin song, ‘Pie Jesu’ by Andrew Lloyd Webber. If…[Read more]

Oh nuts. That’s too bad.
There are only so many names in the world, though; sometimes you can’t help using the same ones (if it just fits too perfectly, of course)! :You could try looking up on Google names beginning with the letter you want, if you know what linguistic origin you want; i.e., ‘danish names starting with p’
That can be really…[Read more] -

@jess Dalton is a major character in book 3 of the knights of Arrethtrae. And then he is in book 4 too.
What time period is your story set in? -
Emma Flournoy replied to the topic Plot help please! in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 10 years ago
Oooh, I really like Dalton!! Do that.
If you want to. 😛Hazel’s not too bad; I like it a lot better than Rylee (or Ryder—whichever is the girl).

@Jess, I don’t really HATE the names, though I don’t really like any of them. You asked. 😉
My favorite of the names is Jax, though; his name sounds like he’d be a nice character.
Also it’s kinda hard to tell which are male and which are female, if you don’t know.

@anna-brie Sorry, I just realized I never replied to you. *sheepish grin* I’m hoping to traditionally published…hopefully at Enclave. Though if that doesn’t work, I will publish myself. But even if a publisher does write a blurb for me (which I’d love) I like to have my own for blog work and stuff.

@jess Yes, most people say that leprechauns are good luck, but that’s a myth. Dragons are much luckier than leprechauns! And don’t worry, I only eat my enemies. 🙂

I haven’t read that, actually. I’ll have to check it out at the library next time I go. I love drawing and art, so thanks! 🙂
Being a dragon has it’s ups and downs, I guess… Dragons have a really hard time playing instruments, and drawing is really difficult at times. Flying is awesome though, and making campfires! I just love marshmallows!

Perhaps the parents had powers as well and the children inherited those. When the government found out the parents had the power, they hunted them down just as they are doing with the kids. The powers could be looked down on simply because they are different from other people. They can destroy the government with them, and the government…[Read more]

@overcomer I have a blog and I really enjoy blogging. I think they are a fun way for readers to follow writers and for writers to connect, but I don’t think one has to have a regular blog. I do think it’s a good idea for a writer to have somewhere they can post occasionally about what they are doing though. And there is something to be said for…[Read more]
