@his-instrument Oh my goodness! Another Veggie Tales fan 😀 It’s from the Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything movie, if that’s what it’s called. I believe it’s said by Mr. Lunt?

@Ethryndal I like to do that sometimes (though usually on purpose). If I’ve had a rough day, I’m going to write a tenser part in my story because I’m actually feeling something very close to what my character is feeling in the scene. (Does that make sense?) Or I’ll make my sarcastic character say the things I can’t get away with ;)…[Read more]

@hannah-krynicki Here is the one I wrote from your dare about from the perspective of a computer when an author kills off a character. 😀
Tap. Tap. Tap.
Her fingers pound down on me as ideas pound into her brain.
I don’t mind, though.
It’s what I was made for.
I look at her as the words appear on me.
Such painful words.
Death.

So I did a few writing dares… like, 4. So I think I’ll post them in a few different posts.
@dragon-snapper Here is what came to mind about a dog who only eats lemon chicken and drinks sweet tea.“You’re unbelievable, you know that?”
Of course I know that. I delight in it.
My human glares down at me, as if he knows what I’m thinking.
I smile u…[Read more] -

@kate-flournoy Yes! I mean, my parents disciplined me a lot, and look how I turned out xD jk
@emma-flournoy You’re right. Adults and older kids do that too. We’re just better at hiding it 😉 -

Man, there’s some really good advice here. *takes notes*
@anne-of-lothlorien I’m the youngest, so I don’t have any little siblings, but I have some young cousins and close young friends who are practically family.I agree with what everyone else has said. Little kids are bundles of energy and love. Their minds are more underdeveloped, so they see…[Read more]

@anne-of-lothlorien This is so good. I love it! Such a good reminder. I really wish we could hear you sing it now 🙂
I actually had a phase two years ago in which songs were all I wrote 😛 They were horrible though, some with a bit of mixed up theology, some what I called “rap” or “spoken word” (still awful), and some just poems I called songs…[Read more] -

@his-instrument Yeah, I know. I’ve only read one or two, and I always die really quickly -_- I’d love to read a novel in 2nd person done well, too. Sometimes authors talk to the readers (C.S. Lewis in the Chronicles of Narnia, Death in The Book Thief movie–not sure if it’s like that in the book though), but it’s not quite the same. 😛

Oh my word. I just finished. And there is only one coherent thought going through my mind: *puts on full body orange pajamas* *shoves candy in mouth* MORE!
Okay, I have a few other coherent thoughts 😛 I love what you did here. Wolfgang is so lovable I didn’t blame him for all the bomb stuff (even before I knew *Spoiler Alert* about what happened…[Read more] -

@daeus @kate-flournoy Huh. That sounds like such a good idea. I’m gonna try that tomorrow. 🙂
@kate-flournoy Yes! I think of many things in my own life as a story. I base characters off of my family members without realizing it, include pieces of dialog from our conversations. I’m gonna have to start carrying a notebook more often, though. I…[Read more] -

@dragon-snapper What do you mean when you say you like the battles better than the morals/change? I’m kind of confused 😛
So some more writer mind stuff. I was researching the fitness programs for the military so I could see how much my characters would be able to take (by the way, thanks @hope for your amazing blog, specifically the Trampling…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy Oh my goodness. I have fire eyes. *grins*
@corissa-maiden-of-praise I haven’t asked my characters that in particular, but here’s a similar encounter I recorded from one of our conversations:
Me: Is there a specific thing you wanted to talk to me about?
Naomi: No, I’m just here for the sake of being annoying.
Me: I hate how much like…[Read more] -

I read the Eragon series a few years ago, and I liked them. I liked most of the characters, although many were stereotypical.
@daeus That’s interesting. I never noticed what exactly made me want to keep reading the books before now.
@emma-flournoy Yeah, many of the characters were stereotypical (Arya, invincible female fighter with sad past,…[Read more] -

Ooooo. I like this discussion.
@dragon-snapper @anne-of-lothlorien I love the How to Train Your Dragon soundtrack! The only bad thing is that I get so into the music while I’m writing that I hear the words of the movie in my head 😛

@anne-of-lothlorien Wow, that novel sounds intriguing 🙂 Oh my goodness. 60,000 words…
I used NaNoWriMo as an excuse to actually start [and hopefully finish] my novel. I’ve rolled this portal fantasy idea around in my head for several years, actually writing a novel with 7 MCs … I realized it was horrible and put it on the shelf to use the…[Read more] - Load More
