@rochellaine Oh, this is cool. There is a writing quote that I really like, but I can’t remember who said it. So, I’m gonna paraphrase it here for y’all.
Write the beginning as if it’s the middle of a story, and write the ending as if it’s the beginning.
If I find out the exact quote and who said it I will come back here with it.

@bella-d When I hear “Dark Ages” I think of the plague, grey stones, monks, Bibles with the really intricate hand-drawn colored pictures and font, and marauders. When I hear “Medieval” I think of knights with swords, jousting, rich women in dresses, castles, peasants in a town or village, and forests and rolling hills.
And for the record, I…[Read more]

@rochellaine Oh wow! I’ve been reading a story set in 1950s and this kid was hiding in a seaplane for a little while and when he got out he found out he was in France. It took me a while to figure out why after just a few hours he was in France. I had remembered just a few pages before them mentioning the East Coast. Then it hit me…the east…[Read more]

@rochellaine Yes, I have noticed that. I once heard a story about some Americans who were in Europe on a bus tour. At one point the bus had to drop some people off at a different destination and the head of the tour apologized about how long the drive would be. The Americans were getting themselves prepared for about a six or eight hour long ride.…[Read more]

@rochellaine Yeah, being blown backward by winds that high is probably a whole lot more fun to write than to experience! 🙂
Flying as often as I did is unusual, but my folks lived 300 miles apart. Driving simply would’ve taken way too long. 🙂 Of course, there were also family vacations that we would go on that had us going all over the country.…[Read more]

@rochellaine Getting blown over by the wind was pretty funny. I live in an area where the wind is on a breezy day about 10-15 mph. And there have been numerous occasions where I had to go out in 30 mph wind. So, that was kind of a relatable part that made me giggle. Also dealing with unyieldy suitcases and seeing the Las Vegas airport. I was there…[Read more]

@rochellaine I rather enjoyed this! I really liked the funny moments that were in there. And I can confirm that navigating airports can be daunting even for the seasoned traveler. All-in-all, I would keep reading this. 🙂

@dekreel I’ve never heard of the DISC thing before, but after looking at it I think I’m C-S and with the color thing I am Gold. And I’m definitely an ISFJ with a little bit of ISTJ as well.

@rochellaine Hmm, this is kinda interesting. I don’t usually read western type stories, but this certainly has an interesting pull to it.

Skredder replied to the topic Weird Things People Tell Me 'Cause I'm a Writer in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 2 months ago
@jenwriter17 That is a funny story!
It seems to me that most times when people find out I’m a writer they tell me all about a story they’re working on. There was this time I was at a birthday party and this girl that I had never met before started a conversation with me. Once she found out I was a writer, she started telling me about this story…[Read more]
