@elanor Dragons! I love dragons! Nice to meet you, by the way! I’m Linyang, but most here call me Lin! Lovely to make your acquaintance!
As @joy-caroline has beaten me to some of my common welcoming questions, I’ll greet you with these:
1. What are some of your favorite movies?
2. Any particularly delectable desserts you’ve tried before?
3.…[Read more]

@elfwing Your WIP sounds so cool! I’d love to hear more about it!
Ruby is so cute! I have two fish, but that’s it.
Oo, lovely choices! My favorite would be Tron: Legacy, but I also love Inception, The Dark Knight, Parasite, and Midnight Special.
Ah, yes, I’ve read the Lord of the Rings, the Silmarillion, and the Hobbit when I was younger,…[Read more]

@lydia-s That’s so awesome that you want to make writing a career! 😀 That’s so awesome! That’s also what I pursued after high school. I didn’t go to college for it, because I didn’t think that was necessary. I think there are plenty of other resources (books, courses, websites, videos, etc.) that you can learn adequately from without paying as…[Read more]

@anika123 Welcome to the Kingdom! We’re so happy you’re here! I’ve got some questions for you, if you don’t mind.
1. What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of writing?
2, What’s your current work about?
3. What are some of your favorite books/movies?

@elfwing Hi there! Welcome to the Kingdom! I’m Linyang, though most here call me Lin.
Ah, dragons. Is this the type of fantasy that you write? I write fantasy as well, though I stray more towards an urban fantasy. Can you tell me what your current work in progress is about?
Also, beautiful profile picture.
Ey, I’m homeschooled as well, and also…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic An amazing story idea pops into your head: What do you do? in the forum Topic of the Week 4 years, 12 months ago
I don’t usually write it down right away. I usually just let it percolate (my favourite word, mainly because its so bizarre) in my head for a while. And if I remember it, that means I’m obsessed with it and that’s when I get a physical notebook and start making notes and outlines for it! Mostly I just forget my ideas, which is fine…[Read more]

@gracie-j Ahhh tysm! It’s from a song called “Campanella” by Kenshi Yonezu! I highly recommend it (and the book which it was based on).

@kathleenramm
Cry. Or scream. Kidding, kidding.I’ll either scribble down some incoherent things for my future self to decipher, or I’ll run it around in my brain for a few days or weeks until I feel like I have a coherent idea for me to start developing. And then at some point I start it, leave it for six months, then come back and see where it takes me. -

@kathleenramm Exactly! That’s why I love foreign literature.

@kathleenramm Of course! I totally get that. I feel like that while there’s clichés in manga, there is also a much different set of stories to explore than the ones we usually see.

@kathleenramm Good characters! Hmm… Fullmetal Alchemist is definitely there at the top, or Silver Spoon, if you prefer school life over action/fantasy. A Silent Voice has a really nice MC and storyline for him. Spy x Family is extremely fun. 20th Century Boys by Naoki Urasawa, which I’m currently reading, is also phenomenal, though I’d have to…[Read more]
