@devastate-lasting Thanks! It’s a WordPress blog, hosted by Bluehost (but I purchased the theme from CreativeMarket.com).

@emberlynn Ah, I see. Well, I’m not exactly sure what kind of content you would be sensitive to, haha, because Ghibli is essentially the Disney of Japan. I myself tend to lean towards seinen anime (for older males) because of the plot and stuff, but I also enjoy shoujo anime (for younger girls). In the latter category I would recommend Your lie in…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 Kinda unrelated but I just want to know what platform you’re using for your blog? It looks so cool!

(honestly I didn’t really know where to put this topic…)
Hi, everyone! I wanted to let you all know that I have a somewhat-new Redbubble shop, featuring designs specifically for writers and readers. Here’s the link if you want to check it out. And I have a new collection coming, with the theme Writer Humor. 😀 If you all have some funny writer…[Read more]

@seekjustice Cool idea!
Here are my current projects:
1) Superhero duology; the first is in the editing stage and the second in the outlining stage.
2) Sci-fi novel with futuristic racing; in first draft stage. Protagonist is a girl trying to show the world what she can do, and learns about true identity and Who created her.
3) Futuristic Red…[Read more]

@seekjustice I don’t remember if I’ve ever talked with you about my WIPs, but I’ve got two going for now:
1) My way-too-long thing about Magic Users and different worlds and stuff like that. Don’t really want to sum it up right now, but the arc I’m about to go into is about one summer by the ocean, including a strange cafe, mysterious…[Read more]

You already know about my WIP, but I’ll share here with everyone too. For your story ideas, I think I like (1) best, simply because I have a bias for stories about discovery/creation. 😛
My WIP is a romance parody/political satire/historical fantasy. In brief, it is Elizabethan theatre meets historical Korea. About a queen who is d…[Read more]

Since we’ve got so many new people on here, I thought it might be fun if we all got to know each other a little better by chatting about our WIPs (works in progress)!
To get us started, I have three novels I’m planning on drafting and I’m just trying to decide which one I write for NaNoWriMo. I don’t want to give too much away about them, but…[Read more]

@emberlynn Nice! If you ever want any series recommendations, just ask XD Your Name is a fantasy romance about a guy and a girl who switch bodies. I won’t say too much more, otherwise it’ll be spoiled.

Yep, still working on QOD. I had to put it down for a while because I kept encountering blocks when writing. Now I’m trying to hammer out the issues via outlining.
I saw your article too! Very helpful in case I ever come around to writing fight scenes 😛 There’s a reason why I stray from writing those. They’re so easy to do badly…[Read more]

@emberlynn Shinkai is actually a fan of Ghibli, haha. His movie “Children Who Chase Lost Voices” is by far the most similar one to theirs. But more often he makes fantasy romance movies, like “Your Name” and more recently, “Weathering With You”. If you haven’t watched Your Name yet I highly recommend it! It’s renowned for being a masterpiece of an…[Read more]

Music is a must for me as well. It helps me block out background noise and just zone in on my writing. I usually listen to ambient music or movie soundtracks (LOTR, Narnia, etc.), and occasionally classical music as well. It has to be instrumental, cause when there’s lyrics I find myself singing along XD

That’s good to hear!
I’ve been pretty good. Busy, definitely!
Aw, thank you! Yes, I had a lot of fun releasing all my pent up frustrations with the modern fiction writers 😛

Wow, that’s quite amazing! I very briefly considered becoming a forensic pathologist, but to be honest the 12+ years of study put me off, so I’ve decided to become an occupational therapist instead, which is definitely a career swing.
I got interested in it through dogs. I’m a dog trainer and I read a book on training cadaver dogs and using…[Read more]

@kathleenramm I was actually just researching this topic for the KP article I’m writing and was just about to make a topic doing an unofficial survey on this very topic!
Personally, I love listening to music while writing. I’ve just been editing articles and I’m listening through the Prisoner of Azkaban soundtrack as we speak. John Williams, you…[Read more]

@kathleenramm I like to listen to music when doing anything. Helps me focus a lot.
Usually when I write I’ll put on whatever it is I’m into at the moment. Ranges a lot…
But more often than not I’ll open up my “Writing stuffs” playlist on Youtube, which consists of a lot of mixes, like chill, or trap, or chillstep, or swing…
