Your first chapter outline is extremely interesting!
Kingdom Pen has a really great article that has helped me a lot and covers just about everything on first chapters that I can think of:Write The Perfect First Chapter | The Ultimate First Chapter Checklist, by Kathleen and Erin Ramm.

Yes, Norway and Russia is a fantastic places for settings, (I haven’t done Norway yet myself). I’m no professor, but if you ever have any questions about ancient Russia, I might be able to help.

With WIPs, I usually have one that is my main focus (where I put all my resources, researching, energy, etc into) then I have a few that I work on when I need a break from my main WIP. This method might not be for everyone, but it’s worked very well so far.

You write in order to change the world… if you alter, even my a millimeter, the way people look at reality, then you can change it.

Welcome to Kingdom Pen! It’s great to have another KeePer here:) I’ll have to check out Scribble Society, it’s hard to find good writing resources, but if your looking to finish a first draft, NaNoWriMo has a great method.
Welcome:)

@writerlexi1216 Yes, I wish I could live there too! *cries* It’s probably my favorite fictional world! Have you read Prince Caspian?
Nice! I got the name from a friend at school. I wasn’t very creative with names XD The Lily the hamster was truly an epic sidekick. She even had a cape!
Ooh, a story about peacocks sounds very fun XD

@gracie-j I love every single time period you just mentioned XD I’ve been super interested in pirates lately, but more towards the beginning of the 1800s. I’ve yet to write a pirate book yet, though. Soon hopefully! I’ve tried writing a story set in the Wild West but I never finished it.
You should definitely read The Miraculous Journey of…[Read more]

The Young Writers Workshop has helped me A TON in my writing. It’s kind of expensive (same price as hope*writers, I believe) but it was totally worth it in my opinion. K. M. Weiland’s blog is also really helpful. 🙂

I really like using Scrivener and ProWritingAid. I also use Abbie Emmons’ 3-Act Story Structure worksheet and How to Write a Novel Using the Snowflake Method by Randy Ingermanson.
I also have a second blog with a page for a bunch of resources (click here). 🙂

EpicAddie2 replied to the topic Subgenres–Helpful or a Hindrance? in the forum Fantasy 5 years, 3 months ago
@larchness This is a good question! Personally, I feel like trying to fit your story into a specific subgenre could be really difficult and limiting. My novel is historical fantasy — kinda. It breaks some of those “rules” because it actually takes place in a different world, but it’s based on America in the Victorian era. I didn’t necessarily…[Read more]

EpicAddie2 replied to the topic What's your biggest excuse for not writing? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years, 3 months ago
@kathleenramm Likewise! Lately though it’s been my laptop that’s the biggest distraction. Which is a problem because my novel is on my laptop. *facepalm* Before, I could just turn my phone off and write on my laptop for hours but now I get so distracted. :/ I’m trying to work on that though.
