  • Jade: beat up others. He like to be on top of things.

    Marian: get beaten up and then PAYBACK. though there are very few people in her world that could feasibly beat her up. She would detect their intentions and find a way around it.

    Would your Character rather realize you were influencing his circumstances or influence yours?

  • I just stared an audio book of The Story Peddler by Lindsay A. Franklin and I like it so far.

    Would I be able to share the short story I’m working on here once I’ve done some revisions? I’m just wondering since I would love some second opinions and I want to make sure before I do it. 😊

    Do you all have any favorite sci-fi’s? I want to dabble my…[Read more]

  • Can i jump in? I just will. 😁

    For movies of the 1960’s-ish, Singing in the Rain is good. it is a musical set in the 1920’s when films switched over from silent to talkies and it follows an famous actor and his transition and a girl he falls in love with. it’s pretty good, and the love interest is played by Carrie Fischer’s mom.

  • he’d sell the baby bears if he could.

  • @devestate-lasting:

    Jade would rather be on the run the rest of his life.

    If he knew what mermaids and centaurs were, it’d be a toss-up because he would think mermaids had more fun, but he’d also like the sound of being a centaur because it’s more masculine.

  • Jade would want to die at twenty, or live to fifty in such a state where he doesn’t notice his regrets. And he would sit on a too-low chair… so he can sit more casual.

    his ex-girlfriend, Marian, would want to die young. She would prefer a too-high chair, since she prefers to sit in a more tense posture.

  • Jade would prefer neither, but if he had to pick, he’d choose teacher because he hates being taught (unless he can use the knowledge against someone). [Wow, I’m just realizing how much of a jerk this character is!]

    Would your character prefer to go to school or be sick?

  • Oh! and my question:

    Would your character rather go spelunking or skydiving?

    Jade prefers skydiving.

  • I think my character Jade, if he HAD to pick, would prefer to have a lifeguard at the beach because it would be easier to get away from the guard. (He’s an assassin who hates authority unless he can use it for money, I am still fleshing out the little… hedonist? I am uncertain)

    Also, does Jade sound like a too-girly name for a sci-fi character?

    @devestate-lasting

    Thanks so much for the tip! I just wanted to make sure.

    @silverclaw-bonnetfolly

    Ohhh… that makes sense!

    Am I permitted to jump into conversations if I have something to say on subject?

    Thanks! Also, why am I a bumbling henchman?

    @williamstarkey

    Thank you for welcoming me to the land of pens, keyboards, dictating to minions, and pencil which does fade (especially in spiral-bound sketchbooks and onto my hand).

    I am not sure if you mean length of poetry or length of time I’ve been writing. My poetry hits a few pages tops. I have been writing poetry for a while, not sure…[Read more]

    The episode(s) of AtLA that stuck out to me were are the last five-ish. they mash five episodes all into one for the finale, I love how they wrap it up. i also love the world-building and the characters, i really like how each different nationality is so distinctive but they are still similar, even in their dress.

    I didn’t know that they were making a new Dune movie, I’ll have to check that out. We don’t have the first book in the series and since Frank Herbert is not a Christian author, I keep on dragging my feet. because I don’t know if I am going to get into a book series I’ll have to cancel or a book that will be too depressing to read, but my Dad loved…[Read more]

  • I think that one of mine was who was/wasn’t emotional in my story. I knew very little of how to portray guys and girls, so I had weepy men and stolid women. Also, I did (and struggle with doing) a lot of too-polished dialogue. It is so bad. I still have some scattered drafts haunting my phone.

    I also struggle with thinking I’m better at something…[Read more]

    I just noticed you asked about any other ideas I want to work on, Linyang Zhang. I do have an idea about a woman who got engaged to a guy from a corny fantasy world as part of a prophecy, but her fiancée forced her to go back to earth and broke her heart and now he’s trying to get her to go back to his world again. It’s a recent idea and it’s…[Read more]

    I am pretty sure I found Kingdompen from forwarded e-mails about the first Young Writers Workshop from a friend. I looked up the site, read a few short stories, and have been reading stuff on the site ever since, it’s helped so much but made me feel like a stalker since i also read the comments and actually began to know stuff about the posters…[Read more]
