I agree with deleting the bolder sentences. And it seems too long to go on the back of a book, but I really like it. It’s a good summary. The one phrase that really doesn’t flow is “An oath to the king and an assassination attempt later, the messenger…” I’m too tired to think of anything else, though. 🙂

@ClaireC @Anna-Brie Yay, we can all do it together! 🙂 And @ClaireC please don’t worry about it. I don’t mind waiting. 🙂

@theliterarycrusader Thank you so much for joining KP! It will be neat to have a “real” writer to ask questions to. (Not that everyone else isn’t a real writer, but you know what I mean. 🙂 )

@Anne-Swiftblade Welcome! Your username is cool; you sound like a character in a medieval adventure novel. Wow, you’ve written quite a lot. Good for you! 🙂

@bluejay Oh, wow. Good for you! I’ll be praying for you. And, you know what, lately when I’ve tried to read fiction I just haven’t been able to get into it. I’m so hungry for the word of God right now (which is unusual for me; I love reading). So if you don’t mind, I’d like to do it with you. Are you starting September first?

@Christi-Eaton Hmm, book reviews. What about…what is the first Mark Of The Lion book called? A Voice in the Wind? Is that a good book for a book review?

Sarah Hoven replied to the topic The Book of John Literary Study in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 3 months ago
I noticed that when John is introducing Jesus’s first disciples, one of the first two is only barely mentioned and neither named nor referred to again, which struck me as a little odd. I thought maybe it was John himself, since throughout the book he seems to avoid talking about himself. Do any of you know if that’s true?

Ha, that’s funny. I have a four-year-old brother, and he’s so funny when he is serious.

@bluejay – Ooh, thanks for the picture! I like how hilly it is. And grassy. We don’t see much grass here in Phoenix. Is it springtime for you yet, or is it still winter over there?

@his-instrument I’ll read the book of John with you! I’m really not that great at literary analysis, so I probably won’t have much to say, but I look forward to learning from everyone else. Besides, I needed to read John again anyway. 🙂

@ClaireC No, I’ve never heard of freddo frogs before. What are they? Say, do you have scorpions over there in the desert part? We had a two- incher in our hallway last night; I’ve heard they sneak in through the air vents.
Oh, that’s too bad. 🙁 Are people upset if they see you about during school hours? I know that’s something my parents have…[Read more] -

@ClaireC You’re homeschooled? Me too! What are the homeschooling laws like in Australia? Although it’s legal here, it seems like there is a bit of hostility toward it from the schools and the government, but we have the awesome Homeschool Legal Defense Association, and they help us defend our rights, etc.

@ClaireC How did you do today? I was desperately tired this morning, but I did not fall asleep and I was able to stay pretty focused. Plus I was able to pray about some serious things in my life, so that was good. (Oh, I was just abut to ask you if it was hard to stay on schedule with school starting up and everything, when I remembered that your…[Read more]

I’ve just started reading the Secret of the Rose series by Michael Phillips, and so far I really like it. Has anyone else read it?
