@leumeister it’s quite science-y but also plausible. 😀 I like the gravity manipulation thing. I have something slightly similar, only it’s a negative energy pulsar that basically creates a mini wormhole around the ship and enables almost instantaneous transportation.
Lots of cool ideas. 😀

@leumeister I would love to, but unfortunately I’ve got a huge project on my hands right now (launching my first published book this year 😀 ) and I promised myself I wouldn’t take on anything extra.

@sam-kowal Sam!! I’m glad there’s an Emberite left who has mercy on us. I’m glad you’re here! As long as you keep visiting often, I don’t think you’re a traitor. 😉
@kaya-young Hello, hello! I liked that little short story thing, by the way. It almost made me cry. Well, if Daeus won’t be here to rule this Kingdom (will he?), then someone ha…[Read more]

@rochellaine Hey, hey, heyyyy! (And yes, I did notice. *smirks*)
Yes, I… have to admit I almost did desert it. But I’m nostalgic, and loyal to KP, and NOTHING CAN TEAR ME AWAY.
Yes, I just read the conversation, and Kaya’s story (but not Jen’s… thing. I couldn’t log in to see it, so I have no idea what it is. 🙁 ). It almost made me cry.…[Read more]

Joy replied to the topic PRAYER REQUESTS #2 in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 11 months ago
Warning: This is a deep post.
Hi, guys! I have a couple kind of major prayer requests.
I am in a similar situation as @salome01w4g (Hannah), where I’m not sure I’m cut out to be an all-out writer. And seeing how devoted people are here, and at Story Embers, to writing novels, I have been considering stepping back a little bit.
Over my hiatus, I…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 First of all, I’m praying. I know that feeling all too well.
Secondly, listen to this song. It should help. 😉

‘Ello, Kapeefers, Emberites, Writers! I’m back from a one-and-a-half-month hiatus.
At this point, most of you are probably at Story Embers, but I thought I’d drop in here and say I’m BACK! Sort of. Maybe. Depends on the workload.
Anyway, if you’re relatively new, and we haven’t met, talk to me!! I’d love to meet you! 😉
And if you’re not new,…[Read more]

Daeus replied to the topic MailChimp Questions in the forum Publishing & Platform 7 years, 11 months ago
@waterlily The standard way to get around age limits is to use the joint venture approach. Basically, someone older than you (a parent, probably) agrees to be part of what you’re doing. They can create an account on MailChimp and let you use it. If they ever stopped letting you use it, legally that would be fine unless you had signed some sort of…[Read more]

@ariel-ashira Well, this isn’t really something I think about a whole lot because I tend to have a good grip on my characters so I just always do what feels right for them and it pretty much turns out. I guess though personally, if I had a brother I thought was dead show up alive I would probably rush him and hug him.

@jenwriter17 Yeah, what Kate said is huge. If you have part 2 of my Show Don’t Tell Course, I have a whole lesson on live scenes there, but basically a live scene is the literary version of a camera taking in everything that’s happening in a scene. No time is skipped. An overview is like when someone tells you what happened at their birthday…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 heh… I’ve got the opposite problem. 😛
*scratches head* I would say probably the number one thing that makes my novels so ridiculously long is the crazy amount of time I spend really delving into the layers of chemistry in live scenes. I try to do all live scenes if I possibly can (no summaries, no overviews, no generalizations)…[Read more]

Hey friends,
Could you pray for a friend of the family? The dad just died in a car accident, leaving behind a wife and ten or eleven kids. 😢
