I’m on book eight, if my memory serves me well. I decided there was such a nagging balance of potential and problems, that I wanted to re-world-build the elf world. If you ever get any ideas for the redesign, let me know.

In the second book everyone knew rescue was coming, and it was a race against time. All hope seems lost, but in the last moment rescue comes and that’s when you find out that the villains had already lost the war and were under order to release prisoners but were trying to off the MC at the last moment.
Oh, did you have a s…[Read more]

Ooh, I like Terry. The problem with names from this era is that so many of them are taken by adults I know. XD

uh yeah! Poor kid needs it!
(I gotta work a Leo into his actual book.)he’s gotta enough hands! Pfft!
Rory
Rory smiled slightly. Sometimes Leo’s words completely flummox him, but Rory had learned to read tone and body language over words long ago. He wasn’t exactly sure what Leo meant, but he understood the tone.
“so… what do you ne…[Read more] -

Not that I hate that, but I don’t love it either. I want them to just beat the bad guys already.
Exactly. I want it, but only as a subplot, not as the main thing.

Uh, big brother mode just got activated.
Leo
Rory looked… lonely. Leo reached over and ruffled the kid’s hair, not stopping to think that he was probably too old for that. He needed a childhood. “Welp, now you’re stuck with me too, so I guess you’ll see how blessed Quincy is.”
He laughed and scooped up a handful of metal…[Read more]

@whalekeeper @theducktator yesss I love KOTLC’s worldbuilding (despite a few points on which I’m like “um, no, that totally breaks immersion, sorry”) but the romance is pretty much half the plot now if not most of it.

Ugh. The series was good through book 6, but the romantic drama has kind of taken over, and I don’t think Shannon Messenger has any idea what she’s doing anymore.

Rory shrugged. “I don’t know what siblings are supposed to look like. I don’t even know if I have any of my own.” He shrugged again and picked out a few more screws. “Quincey is a fortunate boy,” he said, softly.

Leo
Leo chuckled and shook his head. “Do we look related? But I’m the one who pulled the little monkey from a shelled out hole, so I guess I have as much right to claim him as anyone else.”
He leaned back against the couch.

Rory
Most People would have been taken aback. But not Rory. Leo’s story sounded pretty normal. In fact, better than what he’d always known.
but one thing snapped our attention him like the crack of a whip. “Wait a moment… Quincey isn’t related to you? I thought you said he was your brother!” -

Oh goodness yes. XD
Leo
Soldier. Yes…and no. Another sigh caught in his throat.
“Yes, but no. I don’t really know what I’m doing here.” He leaned back against the couch. The floor felt cold through his work pants.

Hey!! I just left you a review on Amazon!! It took me a minute to get around to it. Sorry! It’s gotta screen it so I’m not sure when it’ll show up. It’s my dad’s account but it’s me!!
How are book sales?!
How are you doing yourself?Have a great day!! 🥰

@ellette-giselle Thank you so much for leaving a review! It means so much🥹 your review was very kind, thank you <3
Book sales are slow…and low😅 I sold 9+ copies of both FF and Broken Shackles in January, 1 in February, and that's been it for a bit, but I'm looking on the positive.
As for me personally, I'm doing pretty well. Just busy with…[Read more]

Yeah, book sales being slow hurts. I got sort of cheated by our library. They told me to come and sell my books at a book signing because I was a local author. They said I had to have at least 40 copies on hand. So I went ahead and sunk about $200 of my book fund into it, the books arrived, I contact them, and they said, “Oh,…[Read more]

I like the changes!! I’d just caution you to have more new conflicts than old. It’s easy to fall into the old loop. Instead think of challenges they will face as they try to build a friendship, rather than a loop of old struggles.
Just a little heads up! (I’ve had to learn the hard way and I hoped to pass on some of that…[Read more]

haha, well, I am a lover of well done death scenes. Especially if the characters and author is a Believer, otherwise it’s a little depressing.
hmmm, well, I just can’t stand cheesy rescue/escape scenes.
uh… let’s see.

Yeah, so it’s sorta in his skill set. You know, I should really read those books again. Redwall was such a long, glorious phase.

According to Goodreads, 50% of Unraveled consists of Keefe thought-monologuing about Sophie. It’s safe to say this is the main plot. KotLC is officially a fantasy romance.
