Also I don’t want to be controlling how all this works. So if anyone wants to change this or thinks something works better, I really don’t mind. I’m not the person who makes the final say. It’s entirely based on what your characters need.

The more I look at it the more I like this layout.

That looks great! The archery range might need more space, but then that would only be for like, way more intense archery than the school probably wants to teach, so it makes sense. The world should be glad that I am not a building designer. This feels like an impractical layout

Maybe the tiltyard area should be more of a large courtyard in between the main building and the gym

So at first I was thinking something like this. But the stables still need a place. It should probably be on the side somewhere so it’s accessible from the front and the back, as people come in from travel.

Thoughts? Is this actually practical or does something else make a lot more sense? Is this scribble legible?

Okay. Maybe the gymnasium is a separate building in the center of the back gardens, then. We could integrate the gardens so they sort of surround the gymnasium (hedge bushes and paths and the like), and the tiltyard is walled off so the gym isn’t spilling into the tended grounds. Plus the stables are there… somewhere…

The stables would need room for paddocks and training yards, so it would be a pretty good size in and of itself. We could say the gymnasium is behind the school, and then the stables are behind that, and there are gardens on both sides of the main school complex? Idk.

Hmm. Maybe a separate building? Like maybe they originally had a big hall inside the school, but quickly realized it was way too small for all their needs, so that hall is now a music/orchestra/choir room? They are teaching future monarchs and nobles that will need to lead armies, fight duels, and who knows what else each country…[Read more]

Sorry if no one wants it to be this hyper specific, but I think it might make roleplaying easier in the long run. If the boys will be in the gymnasium a lot

This is a really huge gymnasium, but it makes perfect sense for a bunch of chaotic boys.

A few questions. Should this gymnasium take up pretty much all of the back of the academy? Should it be in the main feature back there or should we put it to the east or west side? Or is it completely separate from the main building?
